Welcome to the group Hassan! I'm quite sure you'll find lots of people with similar interests :)
Good luck with all your endeavours. Hope you'll enjoy the group!

I enjoy reading fantasy books, but I'll also read the odd crime thriller, classic or fiction book. I used to read a lot more than I do now, but I'm trying to g..."
Welcome to the group Helen! Hope you'll enjoy it and everything it has to offer like all the great challenges, fun and interesting group and buddy reads and much more. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask!

Hi Maria welcome! I think that 37 is a commendable goal. What I love about this group is we all have a different goal set but we are all having fun trying to reach it together. There are tons of challenges that can either help you get a head start or push you to the finish line. Please have a look around and let us know if you have any questions.

I've always liked to read and I like to read all kinds of books... biography, science, historical fiction, history, science fiction, ya, fantasy, thrillers - pretty much everything but I'm not a big fan of romance or anything with a relationship as the central plot. I have never actually read a graphic novel but I have some that I would really like to try.
I found this group by searching because I wanted to be part of something that felt more like a community on this site. Somewhere that I could make actual connections and do buddy reads on things.
My reading goal for this year is 50 books! That's where I set it last year and I only made it to 32, so hopefully I can get there this time around. I have an endless TBR on my shelves at home (and kindle).

Hi Mackenzie welcome! If you like buddy reads and discussions you have come to the right place. I have yet to get into a graphic novel maybe this will be my year too.

That link is for our buddy reads have a look around if you have questions please ask!

Sounds good Maria! If you have a look around you'll see that there are goals ranging from like 8 books to more than 300 books. Everybody has it's own goal, depending of lifestyle, other occupations like work and study, speed of reading, etc.
Honestly I love to read any forms of writing, going from poetry to memoirs & all the forms in between.
Wow, impressive. I've tried poetry, but it's just not my cup of tea I'm afraid...
The hardest part about reading is trying to find time....
Indeed it is!!
I’m part of the local Teen Advisory Board @ the public library so that keeps me busy with book recommendations to read so hopefully I will reach my goal. "
Cool! Well, if you come upon some amazing read, please let me know!
For now, welcome to the group, have fun and please let us know if you have any questions!

Same here, not a big fan of romance but almost anything else (depending on the book of course). Never read a graphic novel either but I do like to watch anime/manga. I just looooooved Death Note!

Well, then you have come to the right place!! :D
Next to the link Blagica gave you, you can check here the buddy reads that already have been planned for this year.

Well now that you've joined this group I'm certain you will reach your goal ;P
No seriously, I had been in a reading slump for years and that all changed when I joined this group! I started out with a tentative goal of 12 books, upped it to 24 during the year and ended up reading 46 books!!! All thanks to this group, the great challenges, the awesome group and buddy reads and last but certainly not least, the amazing group members who were always supportive, motivating and encouraging. I hope you'll have a similar experience.
(I'm actually addicted to the group and buddy reads now....)
Good luck but above all have fun!

Hi Heather, welcome to the group!
Congratulations on exceeding your goal, you did great last year. Sure you'll do great this year as well.
If you like to discuss books you might be interested in some of our monthly group and buddy reads (I've become quite addicted to them).
Hope you'll enjoy the group! If you have any questions don't hesitate to ask!

Welcome to the group, Pouli! That is quite an impressive goal you've set for yourself. But indeed it is all about the reading journey towards that goal. May it be awesome and may you find some amazing reads along the way. Hopefully this year will turn around for you after it's bad start.
I hope you'll enjoy the group and everything it has to offer like the great challenges, fun group and buddy reads and much more!

Thanks Susy! I will check out the group reads. I like having people to discuss books with - I'm not in a book club currently so don't get an opportunity to do that very often.

Something you might also enjoy is TBR Twins Heather. so happy to have you join us welcome to the group.

Welcome to the group Salma! I’m sure you’ll meet lots of new friends :)
If you like to read and discuss books together might I suggest the monthly group and buddy reads! I must warn you though that they can become very addictive!
And the group has a lot of other fun activities to offer like all the great challenges, twin reads, chat topics etc etc Just have a look around and see what interests you.
Have fun Salma and if you have any questions please don’t hesitate to ask!
Ps: I’ll be visiting Morocco in March/April, really excited:)

My goal is to read 36 books of a wide variety and to actually post them to the challenge. I am new to this online venue and this is a very active group. I will try to keep up once I figure it all out.

I am currently reading a new author (to me) Joseph Finder - The Fixer! Very good book.

Welcome to the group Pat! Those are three of my favourite genres too! Do you have a favourite author for your horror reads?

I'm sure you'll figure it out soon. At first it can seem a bit overwhelming but once you get used to it, you'll see it's quite easy and structured.
It is a very active indeed. Hope you will be too. Looking forward to your updates!!!

that sounds good! Thank you for the recommendation.

Welcome to the group Brittany! We're a very active community, hope you'll have an awesome time participating and find the support you need (but I'm quite sure you will 😊).
So have fun and if you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask!!

Hi Jenny, welcome to the group!
I love crime and trillers too. Poetry not so much. I have tried it in the past, but it's just not my cup of tea lol
Hope you'll enjoy the group and everything it has to offer. Just have a look around and see what interests you. If you have any questions please don't hesitate to ask!!

Welcome to the group Jenny, we are so glad to have you here! Have a look around and join the group activities, if you like. They are great to help you achieve that goal of 40 books! :) Good luck!

None of these are true thrillers but more of a hybrid.
Mr. Mercedes by Stephen King was very good.
His Bloody Project: Documents relating to the case of Roderick Macrea by Graeme Macrae Burnet was interesting.
The Call by Peadar Guilin (YA) is a dystopian and was gruesome (in my opinion).

I have to tell you I have had Mr. Mercedes by Stephen King on my kindle since the day it was released I will have to move it up my list. Everything else on your list is new to me but that's good I need new authors to add to my list so thank you.

Maybe we can buddy read Blagica, I want to continue SK's books (although probably not this year with all my planned reads lol)

My name is Shanna and I live in North Idaho (U.S.). I have been a part of this group for a while but now I want to be a more active participant. Mostly because I love discussing books with others, but also because I am tired of drama on social media sites (looking at you, Facebook).
My favorite subjects are fiction, suspense, thriller, true crime, and YA. I also love a good nonfiction book now and then. Some of the books I have enjoyed the most were recommended to me by others, so I am looking forward to what this group brings my way.
Cheers!

It's hard to say what I love to read, but easy to say what I hate. And that's romance..
My reading goal this year will be 26 books. I keep it low as I am a mum of two young kids under 5 with absolutely no free time!
That said, I do hope I' ll manage to surprise myself and read more!

Hi Antonia!!
I totally know how you feel, I have 2 young kids too (4 and 7) and the free time is very limited. I wish you luck with your reading goal!
Also, I'm not a fan of the romance genre either. :)

I have always wanted to see Greece 26 is a great number I call it stress free reading. Enjoy!

Have been a good reads member for about 5 years.
This year my books to read will total about 65. Last year I read 67.

Welcome Shanna, glad you have decided to be a more active participant, looking forward to your updates and comments!
Mostly because I love discussing books with others, but also because I am tired of drama on social media sites (looking at you, Facebook).
I know! Is it getting worse and worse or am I getting older? lol
I like FB to keep up with events but other than that it is horrible and just makes me feel sad, angry, frustrated etc.

I'm sure you'll discover some awesome reads. My TBR list has grown exponentially since joining this group!!
