Ren (im_a_toothfairy) Hola! I’m Maria. My reading goal is nothing over the top, it’s pretty simple of just 37 books. Honestly I love to read any forms of writing, going from poetry to memoirs & all the forms in between. The hardest part about reading is trying to find time. In the past years I’ve had a ton of time to do as I wish. But, of course as I’m getting older it feel like the world is escaping me, ha ha ha. I’m part of the local Teen Advisory Board @ the public library so that keeps me busy with book recommendations to read so hopefully I will reach my goal.

Hi Maria welcome! I think that 37 is a commendable goal. What I love about this group is we all have a different goal set but we are all having fun trying to reach it together. There are tons of challenges that can either help you get a head start or push you to the finish line. Please have a look around and let us know if you have any questions.

MacKenzie Russell (xomackenzielynn) | 29 comments Hi, my name is MacKenzie and I'm from Kentucky. I'm 21 years old - in college studying Graphic Design.

I've always liked to read and I like to read all kinds of books... biography, science, historical fiction, history, science fiction, ya, fantasy, thrillers - pretty much everything but I'm not a big fan of romance or anything with a relationship as the central plot. I have never actually read a graphic novel but I have some that I would really like to try.

I found this group by searching because I wanted to be part of something that felt more like a community on this site. Somewhere that I could make actual connections and do buddy reads on things.

My reading goal for this year is 50 books! That's where I set it last year and I only made it to 32, so hopefully I can get there this time around. I have an endless TBR on my shelves at home (and kindle).

Sounds good Maria! If you have a look around you'll see that there are goals ranging from like 8 books to more than 300 books. Everybody has it's own goal, depending of lifestyle, other occupations like work and study, speed of reading, etc.

Honestly I love to read any forms of writing, going from poetry to memoirs & all the forms in between.

Wow, impressive. I've tried poetry, but it's just not my cup of tea I'm afraid...

The hardest part about reading is trying to find time....

Indeed it is!!

Cool! Well, if you come upon some amazing read, please let me know!

For now, welcome to the group, have fun and please let us know if you have any questions!

Same here, not a big fan of romance but almost anything else (depending on the book of course). Never read a graphic novel either but I do like to watch anime/manga. I just looooooved Death Note!

I found this group by searching because I wanted to be part of something that felt more like a community on this site. Somewhere that I could make actual connections and do buddy reads on things.

Well, then you have come to the right place!! :D
Next to the link Blagica gave you, you can check here the buddy reads that already have been planned for this year.

Well now that you've joined this group I'm certain you will reach your goal ;P
No seriously, I had been in a reading slump for years and that all changed when I joined this group! I started out with a tentative goal of 12 books, upped it to 24 during the year and ended up reading 46 books!!! All thanks to this group, the great challenges, the awesome group and buddy reads and last but certainly not least, the amazing group members who were always supportive, motivating and encouraging. I hope you'll have a similar experience.
(I'm actually addicted to the group and buddy reads now....)

Good luck but above all have fun!

Heather Wescott | 461 comments Hi everyone! I'm Heather from Seattle, Washington. In 2017, I set a goal to complete 50 books. I managed to finish 71. For 2018, my goal is to complete 60 books (although I'm hoping to be able to exceed that total again). I enjoy reading both fiction and non-fiction, depending on my mood. I'm looking forward to participating in some discussions about books I read this year.

But my year has started kinda shitty... and I need my escape... I breathe, I read... what can I say more than that to describe me!!! I have started with ''The Prophet''... and I will finish with "The Little Prince"... and the journey in between? it is just as unknown as life is now...

Pat (pebdc) | 106 comments My name is Pat and I live in Washington DC and work in Herndon VA. My favorite reads are crime, thriller, and horror but I read everything because I am a middle school librarian. I also listen to audio books during the commute.

My goal is to read 36 books of a wide variety and to actually post them to the challenge. I am new to this online venue and this is a very active group. I will try to keep up once I figure it all out.

None of these are true thrillers but more of a hybrid.

Mr. Mercedes by Stephen King was very good.

His Bloody Project: Documents relating to the case of Roderick Macrea by Graeme Macrae Burnet was interesting.

The Call by Peadar Guilin (YA) is a dystopian and was gruesome (in my opinion).

My name is Shanna and I live in North Idaho (U.S.). I have been a part of this group for a while but now I want to be a more active participant. Mostly because I love discussing books with others, but also because I am tired of drama on social media sites (looking at you, Facebook).

My favorite subjects are fiction, suspense, thriller, true crime, and YA. I also love a good nonfiction book now and then. Some of the books I have enjoyed the most were recommended to me by others, so I am looking forward to what this group brings my way.

Cheers!

Crazytourists_books Hello! I am Antonia, I am from Athens, Greece and I live in Huddersfield, UK.
It's hard to say what I love to read, but easy to say what I hate. And that's romance..
My reading goal this year will be 26 books. I keep it low as I am a mum of two young kids under 5 with absolutely no free time!
That said, I do hope I' ll manage to surprise myself and read more!

Terry | 1 comments Hi, I am Terry from Northern Californian. I am an eclectic reader. I enjoy reading thrillers (but not too scary), romance, historical fiction, mystery (really love series detectives), mainstream literature, some sci-fi, and fantasy. My reading also includes current non-fiction. Not a big fan of biographies but want to challenge my self to read at least one this year.

Have been a good reads member for about 5 years.

This year my books to read will total about 65. Last year I read 67.
