It is definitely looking very very doable. You need to start adding more reads!

Karishma wrote: "It is definitely looking very very doable. You need to start adding more reads!"Haha don't tempt me. It's taking all my self control not to just say yes to everything like I did last year 🤣
Sir Anni wrote: "How about setting a date for our Demon Cycle Read? 😅"Yes haha it might be a good idea before our schedules both get too full!! When were you thinking? I think there were a couple of others who were interested as well wasn't there but I can't remember who.
Sir Anni wrote: "As you wanted to keep your April clear, maybe May?"That works for me. However ideally I'd like to keep August free as well. What about this schedule that misses out August:
10th May - The Painted Man
10th June - The Desert Spear
10th July - The Daylight War
10th September - The Skull Throne
10th October - The Core
Could we start on the 15th instead? I think I already agreed to start another BR on the 10th... Not that I'm sure anymore :D I have no problem with a summer break in August :)

Great!! I just picked the 10th at random so the 15th is fine by me. I'll request the threads 😊

Just bumping this up the list. I'm editing it all the time at the moment and I'm feeling too lazy to scroll down the page ;-)
This is my 1000th comment in this group :-). Making my 1000th comment by announcing it is my 1000th comment seemed appropriate lol. Although it's small fry in comparison to some peoples comment tallies I know ;-)
You made me check how many I have, looks like I'm creeping up on 4000!Think of how many books we could have read in all this commenting time... 😂😂
Bea wrote: "Had to check as well. I already have 1100+ comments??! When and how did that happen? 😅"I know it can sneak up on you!! I noticed a week or so ago that I was approaching 1000 so I kept my eye on it so that I knew when I was going to reach 1000. Yes I am that sad lol
Congrats on the 1K Hailee! :DOMG, you guys made me check. I have more than 4800. How...? I joined the group around that time last year...
Karishma wrote: "Congrats Hailee! This will be 1458th for me!"
Virginie wrote: "Congrats on the 1K Hailee! :D
OMG, you guys made me check. I have more than 4800. How...? I joined the group around that time last year..."
Haha thanks guys. And I love that now everybody has been checking their own comment count 😂😂😂
Sir Anni wrote: "Congrats Hailee! :)@Bea, maybe the moment you joined the most talkative Team? 😂"
The fact I didn't choose my team is a good excuse for my comment count. Obviously the mods are to blame :p
I've added a couple of books to my tracker. They aren't buddy reads so I've put them in italics so that I can differentiate between them. I'm pretty confident that that is the time I'm going to read them so I've added them in to stop me scheduling other things.
Updated my tracker to include some books I'm hoping to fit in on particular months. This is just so I can keep them fresh in my mind when I come to plan my monthly TBR.But this comment really exists to bump my tracker back up the list coz I'm to lazy to keep scrolling down to it near the bottom 😉
Sir Anni wrote: "Your schedule looks so neat and tidy! 🤩"Thanks. I thought I'd better organise it to see how I was doing commitment wise but it turns out its not too bad once I get past September which is a relief 😌
I BROUGHT STUFF!!!
And here...since this might turm out to be a long post......😂😂😂
(view spoiler)
Ok Hailee...now that I got involved in your January plan, of course I wanna EVILLY & VENGEFULLY drag you into my February 2020 romance reading plan...y'know, all that jazz about an 👀 for an 👀....
Soooooo, basically put, I'm planning to read (at least 4) romances in Feb. One of those has gotta be with you, no? I remember how we chatted on both of us also loving the "traditionals" mainstream tropes.
Don't worry...I will deffo cunningly entrap Sha & Melissa...leave this part to me...bcuz I simply don't think I have evaarr even read a historical romance on here without checking in with Sha because (on the histrom BR front) she COMPLETES me... *KICK* + 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
And Melissa I already promised two trilogies to and don't want to hog the entire front end of her calendar so I am (cunningly) waiting.
I already promised the front dates in Feb (am waiting to hear back from Shaitarn but deffo think she will be Chill about it, no issues) but thought I will quietly save Valentine's week... Feb 10-15 for you?
*grins*
Tho I don't get claptrappy about the day, Hay, I think I will deffo like to read a romance that week but I recently packed most of my books *sigh* again and sent them into storage.
These are the few histrom I have out. See if you fancy any of these, I have linked to book covers and separated by author so you can easily check the blurbs and see if any catch your eye:
1. Sherry Thomas...never read this author but she/this London (again 😂) trilogy comes highly recommended on all the romance blogs:
* His at Night
* Luckiest Lady in London
* Private arrangements
The series page is: https://www.goodreads.com/series/1457...
2. Lisa Kleypas: Suddenly You
3. Judith McNaught: Something Wonderful
4. Laura Kinsale (already wrote to Shaitarn about these so she may pick one for first week of Feb): Flowers in the Storm and ShadowHeart
5. Or if you prefer to switch it up with contemporary, we can read Mariana Zapata. Manju has been pushing this author on me for along time. I haven't tried her yet but this status update was deffo enticing enough to make me download the book:
+ Manju & Iniya recommend.
Aaaand now. Here is a completely altruistic raft of pictures from a very disinterested, detached and innocent bystander who (loves it) and is in an Ancient Egyptian trippy mood today and thus
THE SHIPLOAD OF JIMMY MANTON
(view spoiler)
No, this was NOT a cunning bribe, how dare yoooooh!! But I hope you will say yes to my little Feb plan, due to the high standards and supreme ethicality of my siscourgement practices...😂 and (if this is cool with you) we can use the Feel Good Books thread so don't take the trouble to fill a form/spreadsheef.
Oh and also @all...everyone is welcome to jump in with us for this BR.
Feb 10-15 is when the balloon goes up, Hailee willing, that is.
EDIT i edited this post so many times and it took me half an hour to make and I hope I didn't stuff up somewhere and you can see everything.["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>
Sound like a great plan to me, count me in :-). Romance is one of the genres I'm always in the mood for despite the fact I can be quite fussy on what I pick.I'm definitely interested in:
The third book in the trilogy doesn't appeal as much. With romance, both historical and contemporary, I'll tend to read books in series order but just miss out the ones that don't appeal lol.
I also like the sound of:
I also have these books on my immediate romance radar just in case any of these float your boat (no worries if none of them do, but wanted to bring them to your attention just in case):
These are the Lost Duke of Wyndham duology by Julia Quinn
(contemporary)
(contemporary)
(contemporary)
(contemporary)
(I don't read a lot of PNR anymore but this one has caught my eye)I'm probably going to use February to get through a couple of the books on my '2020 or Unhaul' list that happen to be romance books (its a new personal challenge I am setting myself for next year).
Hi :)) niiiice return booklist!! Ohk, I'm deffo interested in the Julia Quinn duology. I like her style and her "feel good"-ness. And the contemporary one with that age difference just sounds so forbidden,,🙈😂 I can't even...and isn't that soemthing like...almost incest...or something? Someone is deffo gonna get hurt in that story.
+ that one with the street musician sounds intriguing but I hope it doesn't get bogged/weighed by legal tangles, altho I think here the legalities are thrown in the path jjst to help the romance plot get movin'...
One habit I'm glad the genre got rid of is (thank god) nowadays it's not always cowboys or greek billionaires...and considering the state of their economy...ah well, they're rebuilding now!! One thing you know for sure about the Greeks, they endure, across the millennia...even...I'm always so fascinated by ancient cultures!
Ohk I rambled, as usual. Back to the booklist...I'm definitely also interested in the Renee Ahdieh, been wanting to try for the longest time + yea I do want to read more PNR. We can read that Bk 1 closer to the pub date of book 2, I think that'll work well.
Ohk then let's confirm Suddenly You for 10-15 Feb? By end of that month I think I'll have read more than enough romance so would want a break but we can deffo spread out the two Julia Quinn books and the two Sherry Thomas you're interested in thru the rest of the year, as palate cleansers between heavier reads/big series.
So...this is how I'm seeing our BR sked as it currently stands:
Standalone Jan ~ London
Feb 10-15 ~Suddenly You
March/April/May? ~ Michener TBD
In betweens/ whenever ~ Wyndham duology + London trilogy...2/3
Renee Ahdieh ~ also TBD
Are you noticing a trend?
😉
Ah, don't worry, I'll be happy to BR 2 out of 3 from the London romances. I'm equally haphazard with my romance reads too...pick at random based on mood and never bother to retain plots unless they're standout scenes (that Ash/Marge library scene in Unveiled, just read it again last night...☺️) i just realised I don't even remember now how many series I'd have started over the years and just drifted apart...without ever bothering to keep track...I know I went on a big Nora Roberts kick in the past...and she has such a huge backlist...trawling it could take ages. Best start keeping better track from now on.
Edit: @Charlie and @Yani also have marked The Beautiful so if we decide to turn the series into a BR..they might be up for it!
Zaara wrote: "So...this is how I'm seeing our BR sked as it currently stands:Standalone Jan ~ London

Yes that sounds good to me. Romance are great buddy read fillers since ( for me at least) they don't need too much planning. Even during my busiest reading time I can normally fit is these kind of romances no bother.
I'll make sure I buy Suddenly You soon so I'm ready to go in mid Feb...
Zaara wrote: "Edit: @Charlie and @Yani also have marked The Beautiful so if we decide to turn the series into a BR..they might be up for it!..."That's be fun. I'm a bit nervous about this one since it has been so long since I read a PNR but this one has been seriously hyped as the book that is going to ring back vampire romance and I did enjoy Twilight back in the day (although not the sequels) so I want to give it a go.
Waiting until the sequel is closer is probably a good idea. When I bought it I was under the impression it was standalone although now I think about it that was probably a bit stupid since Renee Ahdieh mainly writes duologies
Ok deal! And don't forget we need to get Wyndham and Ahdieh (eventually) duologies and ALSO need to get whichever Michener we decide...😂😂😂
Re the 2 Sherry Thomas...sometimes you get 3 for 2 on assorted romances...
Haha yeah there are quite a few books we need to purchase, although The Beautiful is already sitting on my shelf reading and waiting 😏. I'll put the rest on my wishlist and keep an eye on them. I might even treat myself to a shopping spree in Waterstones in January...

Navi wrote: "The Count of Monte Cristo and The Priory of the Orange Tree were both 5 star reads for me! I hope you enjoy that as well :)"They are both books I've been meaning to get to for ages. In the case of The Count for years!! I have high hopes for both of them and I'm determined that 2020 will be the year.
Hi I'm here Hay. Just got in...Haven't checked the threads yet to see what you decided about 3 dark crowns...not even seen yet which team I'm on...we're all sorted by now, I guess. I hope I'm Mordor bcuz I gave me word and consider myself morally contraxted.
Just wanted to check in...Happy new year to you and my virtual Dad.
Hey we both wish you a happy new year!! Hope you had a great holiday. As for 3 dark crowns. I have put reading the sequel on hold until you've read tge 1st book (its good btw). In an ideal world we'd maybe start book 2 around Feb or March but if not its not critical. Its not as if I don't have plenty of other things to read. Bought 5 more books today actually 🤦♀️

In an ideal world we..."Oh thanks Hay...thank you luv, appreciate the leeway you've given me...😅 dunno how I did this but I'm already overstocked on BRs so I will try to get to Book 1 during my free week in Feb and we can continue the series together from March 1, if that's ok with you??
Also, I decided to restart Priory of the Orange Tree to have it count for points + *poof* I forgot most finer plot deets already so am glad you've challenged yourself for it this year...let's BR that using the old thread itself??
And also, did you start Space in the other group? How is it? Liking Michener's style??
At this rate we are gonna be reading buddies all year thru...*shrugs* suits me just fine but I hope you don't get sick of me...😂

GOING TO THE LONDON THREAF NOW! Uhhh after i finish shouting at you in capitals that is...😂😂😂 can't be stuffed to retype.
Zaara wrote: "At this rate we are gonna be reading buddies all year thru...*shrugs* suits me just fine but I hope you don't get sick of me...😂"Haha no danger of that. I'm just grateful we are on the same team this year. I'd hate to be aiding the
Zaara wrote: "Also, I decided to restart Priory of the Orange Tree to have it count for points + *poof* I forgot most finer plot deets already so am glad you've challenged yourself for it this year...let's BR that using the old thread itself??"Yes!! Priory is a definite priority read for me this year so that sounds like a good plan to me. Anni and I are doing the same with Gardens of the Moon.
Zaara wrote: "And also, did you start Space in the other group? How is it? Liking Michener's style??"No the book didn't win the poll in the end. Probably just as well since I don't know how I would have fit it in January anyway. Like you I'm a bit overstocked at the moment. I have London, then The Desert Spear, The Daylight War and Do You Come Here Often? from my 2020 or Unhaul challenge if I want to keep on track with it and I really need to read. And I really need to try and fit in Cage of Souls as well!!
Zaara wrote: "Oh thanks Hay...thank you luv, appreciate the leeway you've given me...😅 dunno how I did this but I'm already overstocked on BRs so I will try to get to Book 1 during my free week in Feb and we can continue the series together from March 1, if that's ok with you??"That's good with me. I'll add it to my tracker but let me know if you struggle to get it read in time and we can reassess if needed :-)
