oh, and both of these are from the Year of the Chick series so Y works too
Congratulations Jane that is exciting! :)
Looks like we are going for another week after all, we got suspense.
Looks like my current book won't work for this one so I will start Crescendo instead. Works for N (character Nora), P (character Patch), or S (character Scott).
Hi girls!! Sorry I was out yesterday and couldn't access internet until now.Congratulations Jane!! A new baby in a family is always wonderful.
Another week?! Great!! I really thought that this was our last one.
They posted week 6 in the "Weekly Wheels and Posting Deadline Thread"...that's all I was going by. I could be wrong though.
Wow... I thought we were done after this week, too! Having a blast, but have two giant editing projects due this week, so likely to be mostly useless to you guys. ;) At the very least I'll pull out the required 1 book, though, and will do as much as I can. Will be back with a choice tomorrow.
Thanks. In Danish we have two different words for auntie. "Moster" is when it is mother's sister. I have 3 sisters and I am "moster" to 5 kids (using kids loosly as they are from 11-21)But this is my first time as "faster" which is father's sister, that makes it even more exciting.
I seem to have read somewhere that we are going to the end of August instead of 2000 points.
@ Kerry-anneI don't see my last book on our list. It should still count.
Forliset og andre skrøner by Jørn Riel
rofl... you just made me giggle, Jane. I misread your message, and thought you were 'Monster' to 5 kids. We have a slang thing in US... step-mothers are often Step-Monsters (when they're horrible). So I was thinking you're a really rotten auntie, who never gives hugs or candy or gifts, and locks kiddies in the attic... It made me smile. And I'm sure you're a perfectly lovely auntie. ;)
Just to warn everyone my reading is probably goin to drop off a bit over the next couple weeks. I have a job interview tomorrow which I really hope to get but of course a job means less reading time! I have been unemployed over the last couple of months because I moved to a new city. Ugh I have been to so many interviews! On top of that I am going to a college interview on Tuesday and assuming that goes well I am starting school in September so I have to do a bunch of prep for that. Plus I am going camping on the labour day weekend (July 30-august 1). So I am going to be a very busy girl in other words lol I'm sorry if I only finish one or two books over the next couple weeks!
Good luck Kelsi. I am quite envious, I hate writing applications and scared of interviews but it would be good to have a job.
Morning girls!!I'm going to have a pretty busy week but since it's also Bout of Books week I'll try to finish at least two books.
I'm going on vacation this next Saturday and I won't probably have much internet access, so I'll post all my readings until Friday night.
For the next week I'll be back before the deadline is over, so I'll be able to tell my readings then.
I'm currently reading Black Trillium by Marion Zimmer Bradley, Julian May, Andre Norton. It works for letters N - author: Andre Norton; and U - charac: Uzun.
@Kelsi, good luck!!
Yay go us!! And thanks for all the good luck ladies I will keep you posted :)
Had to put down Silkworm for a bit. I will finish but needed a break. Starting
by Jessica ParkS (Julie Seagle) E (Erin Watkins)
Crossing fingers, Kelsi! Hope it went wonderfully!Ok, so nobody judge me. ;) I'm rereading a fave, cause I'm having a rough week and its likely to get rougher with all the stuff I have to do... so revisiting a sweet tender first love story is just what I need. lol I'm reading Twilight, again. Haven't read it in a good year and a half, though, so it counts.
Twilight by Stephanie Meyer
Letters... S - Stephanie (author), E - Edward (char), and I'll be on the lookout for other letters... they're just not coming to mind at the moment.
Rachel, it's always good to reread something that make us feel good. I have my "comfort books" too. :)
Juliana wrote: "Rachel, it's always good to reread something that make us feel good. I have my "comfort books" too. :)"Lol... its not that, so much. I just feel rather silly that my comfort book is Twilight, given that I'm a rather down to earth woman a year away from 40. The book snob I was when I was studying classical literature in college is sneering at me. ;)

Hey ladies! I told you I would keep you all updated with my interview progress so here is what I know so far:
I am almost for sure going to be accepted into school (yay!) The interview and minor tests I had to do went really well and the lady that interviewed me seemed quite confident I would get a spot. I should know by tomorrow :)
The job interview also went quite well but I don't think I am going to accept it. The shifts start at 5 AM and are 8 hours long which is not really feasible while I am in school. They have a few other openings which I am being considered for as well so that might turn into something anyway. There are some job opportunities on campus as well which would be the ideal situation because I could just work between or after classes.
I have about a hundred pages of Crescendo left, should be done it by tomorrow morning at the latest!

Kelsi, that is fabulous news! Was sorta hesitant to ask, just in case the opportunity wasn't as great as you initially thought it was (and that is such a bummer), but seems like its working out even better!
I finished Crescendo last night. Just got back from the library with The Shining which I need to read for two of my other challenges. It only counts for S unfortunately (title or author's name).
Sorry I've been MIA the past week! I'm still reading The Death of Bees, which can count for a S (character: Susie) or a N (character: Nelly). I will look at the list and pick out some more books as well, since I should finish this one tonight/tomorrow.
Finished The Death of Bees.Starting William Shakespeare's The Empire Striketh Back, which can count as an E or an S (character: Skywalker).
Oh em gee!!! Are you actually reading those fab Shakespeare Star Wars books, Joy? So dying to hear how those are! I've got the three of em, but haven't started the first yet. Did you read '...Verily, A New Hope,' too? I swear I went into little geek-ette spasms of joy when I discovered those. ;) I'm still trudging away on Twilight, again. With my schedule this week, I'll be lucky to finish 2 books, I'm thinking.
@Rachel: I haven't actually read the first one, but I'd heard of the series, and this was the only one of the three that I found at the library. So I figured I'd just pick this one up and see how it is! :D I'm really looking forward to it.
@ Joy... can't wait to hear about it when you're done! @ Irene... Love that series! #1 Ladies Detective Agency is fabulous. I've only read first 4 books or so, but they were all amazing. Hope you enjoy it!
@ kelsi: Congrats on everything going so well.@ all of us. WOW we are doing great. We were in last place and now we have worked our way up to 8th place, that is quite a feat.

@Kerry-anne
I am not sure what to think about it. It mentions a lot of problems lightly, maybe a bit too lightly.
