I found that with perks too...it was still worth the read but the characters are hard to connect with.

Well, I've gotten almost no fiction reading done this week.. still working on Birdman, and that should definitely be done on time. But have had to read a reference/technical manual straight thru as a bone-up on editing skills... do those count? 400 pages, I should be done with this later today...

The only letter I see it offering is a 'C' for Chicago, or possibly an 'E' if you use Elements from the Secondary title (book is commonly referred to as Elements of Style, so that should work).

*Waves* - hi, y'all! What a week so far - three day conference and VBS at night - I've only spent 45 minutes a day at home this week (so glad that's over!). I'm sure I'll manage a book or two before the week is over, though :)

As far as I can tell looking at my Nook, World After doesn't look to be lendable, unfortunately. Does anyone have a definitive way to check that, offhand? A website, or something? My 'lendable' tags tend to be few and far between.. can't believe more titles than that aren't lendable.

Morning ladies!!

This week I had so many small things to do and not so much enthusiasm to read. So I'll not finish my second book for this week, sorry. :(
I'm enjoying it, but it has a slow pace and so many different words that I'm not familiar with, that this one will take me some time to read.

This weekend I'm going to a little trip, but I'll be back Sunday afternoon and then I'll pick another book that works for our next genre.

Even if you have enough books, have to have very specific ones. Hard one. Hey, is this the last week of the challenge, coming up? I seem to remember hearing I was only getting picked up for last 3 weeks. I'm just getting into the swing! lol Will definitely join next time.

Oh, let me just say now that I've got books to read for any letter of next weeks word... so I'll hold off on a read till we have an idea of what we'll be needing once other people have announced their first books.

Yep, fun creepy show a few years ago. I'm almost positive its on Netflix now.. same name, 666 Park Avenue. Though from just reading the premise of the books, looks like show is an extremely loose adaptation. Was fun to watch, though.

Gnome on the Range by Jennifer Zane

This is the same book as Waiting. I could not understand I couldn't find it on my Kindle as I had pressed deliver. I then decided to go for download via pc. I selected Waiting and got a box that asked me if I wanted to download Gnome on a Range. Then it all made sense.
I have chosen to use the title Gnome on the Range as that is what it is call on my Kindle and that was the title when I bought it (for free) on Amazon last year.

Does anyone who has a feel for these things have any idea where we stand with letters for first books, by chance? I know its early, but I'd rather choose one that looks like it'll be in the realm of a letter we need with that crazy word we have to spell. Or even based on whole challenge what letters tend to be hardest to fill would push me in the right direction.

edit: K, I'll aim for something with an 'N' then since that's the only letter looks like we don't have potential coverage on. ;) be back w book

Kerry-anne... I got the 'gnome on the range' to bring up the actual gnome on the range book (its listed as a different edition, I think?), but even if you can't, under 'waiting' in the ISBN data, it has original title 'Gnome on the Range', so thinking that should be ok, yeah?

@ Rachel, Yes there are lots of spell it out challenges both in this Nothing but Reading Challenges group but also other groups here on Goodreads. I also first discovered them this year.

Animal Alphabet Reading Challenge is a spell it out in this group and I have chosen a time of 2 years to complete it.
