Megatron | 3 comments When I was a senior in high school (2006) my AP World History teacher recommended a book about various interesting, often comical, events throughout world history. Each story was only a few pages long at most. There were stories about Pompeii, Rome, Egypt, China, etc. I think the font on the cover was similar to Only Yesterday by Frederick Allen Lewis. Even though the book was physically dense, the writing was really accessible and fun. I would love to find and re-buy this book - I have no idea what happened to my copy of it - and any help is immensely appreciated!

Megatron, which cover image of Only Yesterday: An Informal History of the 1920's might be similar to your book?
1) Only Yesterday An Informal History of the 1920's by Frederick Lewis Allen
2) Only Yesterday and Since Yesterday A Popular History of the '20's and '30's by Frederick Lewis Allen
3) Only Yesterday by Allen Foster

When do the most recent events occur (e.g., around 2000, mid-1900's)?

Or is it about the ancient world?
For example: The History of the Ancient World: From the Earliest Accounts to the Fall of Rome by Susan Wise Bauer has short chapters and is 896 pages along, but it was published in 2007.
