♐️ Cherie's Celestial Cycle ♐️

I had always wanted to go into one of those libraries that house rare materials. A friends sister arranged for me o read the letter as my birthday present. I could only read it in a certain room and had to wear protective garments. The letter was hard to read (handwritin) and not all that exciting. I still loved the expierence.

My first read by this author and it was an artfully written story with great characters. Now, I can go back and pick up Morrie where I last left him in Work Song.

What a wonderful birthday present and an unforgettable experience. From a historical fiction perspective - nice to know the background basis for the book too.

Michael Crichton's Micro goes back to the stacks of unread.

I'm probably going to listen to Mystic River too for that one.

I'm probably going to listen to Mystic River..."
Ugh, some authors are really not cut out to do their own narration. Neil Gaiman is an exception. I have listened to Billy Crystal's book - it was great! Still Foolin' 'Em: Where I've Been, Where I'm Going, and Where the Hell Are My Keys, but Bill Shatner was only so so, in Leonard: My Fifty-Year Friendship with a Remarkable Man. I admit though, I listened on a long drive and the road noise did not help. I should probably give it a re-listen at some point. It was written well and so much information that I had never known. I do recommend them both.

It was a good story and well written. I had no idea how the art of healing was taught in those times.

1 - Wow! 'Badge 2, Book 24 of 24 ' already! Well done you! You're on a roll
2 - Sounds like the ideal book for a book set in ancient Egypt, so I may well steal your idea.
3 - Read 'bacon' instead of 'beacon'. Must get breakfast
: )

Are you telling us you aren't enjoying the book? I have it for the movie task (Audrey Hepburn). I have a few "forced finishes" and don't have the patience for another.

I just could not find anything else for Audrey H that I wanted to read.
I checked the book out and kept shuffling it around with the stack of other books that seemed more interesting. I have winnowed my stack down to only one last library book, the toppler is over and my next buddy read is not for another two weeks, so I am forcing myself to read it and get it over with.

Barbara Holloway #5. I really like this series!

I was checking out titles from my list and realized I had not posted the book above. I was reading the Pendergast series at that time and waiting on my library to make it available and I forgot that I found it on my daughter's library list and listened to it. I had skipped it because it was always on hold. I think I am finally caught up with Barbara Holloway. #9 is next and I just found out that there is a #14 that was recently released.

I used to follow a lot of series but now I find I prefer stand-alones.

I had two other books that I already owned picked for this task, but I happened to download this story in audiobook format from my library. I liked the narrator's voice and it was available. I had no idea what the story was about until I started listening to it. It is considered a middle-grade reader story but I really enjoyed it. A new to me author, who started writing at age 19. Hopefully, I can find the next book in the series.

Indeed! I think you are much more well versed in Australian writing than the vast majority of Australians.
The reread thing in 10 years is particularly hitting home at the moment, as that's exactly what I have done with my May Challenge book. It's not like it's a terrible reread, it's quite an okay book. I just look at masses of unread books that are judging me on my shelves...
