Megan (lahairoi) | 7470 comments Just finished #9 (antihero) - The Boy on the Bridge by M. R. Carey. Really good companion book to The Girl With All the Gifts. It took me awhile to get through it because of some of the graphic scenes, but it's got some lovely bits and a great ending. Definitely worth reading! 4.5 stars

Amy Ingalls | 3796 comments Updated post 938, a book about a villain or an antihero, Twin of Ice I consider an antihero to be someone who is flawed, makes mistakes, and doesn't set out to be an obvious hero. However, when the time comes to do what is right, they jump in and save the day. So I am counting Kane as an antihero for his actions at the mine.

The concept was interesting, enough to keep me reading to the end. But the characters were not likeable and the writing was not clear. Not worth reading. 2 stars

7. A book set in a country that fascinates you - Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen ✔️
10. A book about death or grief - Crooked House by Agatha Christie ✔️
27. A book set on a different planet - Artemis by Andy Weir ✔️
37. A book you meant to read in 2017 but didn’t get to - Anthem by Ayn Rand ✔️
49. A book about a problem facing society today - Atlas Shrugged by Ayn Rand ✔️

Finished, at last, reading Atlas Shrugged by Ayn Rand.

All hail the queen, Ayn Rand! Believe me, when I say that this book took me 90 days of my life to complete. I actually scheduled my reading timings for Atlas Shrugged just so that I could spend more time reading it. If only there were few more pages to read!

I'm glad this book is finally over. I even wondered many a number of times thinking about when would I be able to finish it and move onto the next book. Now I regret it. That's what Ayn Rand does to you if you are a tiny bit of an egoist that you should be.
A living proof that philosophy too could be taught in a commercial way.
