An allegory includes "picture(s) that can be interpreted to reveal a hidden meaning," and I think that very much describes The Wicked + The Divine, Vol. 5: Imperial Phase I. Much of the book is about hidden meaning and the depth of where these gods & goddesses are headed. Nothing in this series is done on purpose, including the iconic black circle of god icons each issue starts with.
This is a great installation and I'm very glad the artwork is back to normal.
