Janice (jamasc) | 60069 comments That's a no-brainer, Marie Claude. 90% of the cover is made up of clouds. When it's that obvious, you don't need a ruling.

I wasn't sure it was obvious enough on the picture compared as on the actual book ;o) Thank you

Janice (jamasc) | 60069 comments No problem Marie Claude. :)

message 755: by Kristie, Moderator (new)

Kristie | 19316 comments Janice, Would Miller's Valley fit for Taurus, Stone: Jasper - Read a book where illness (mental, emotional or physical) is a major theme? The MC does not have any of those issues, but it is a coming of age story where in her family (view spoiler) The illnesses aren't the main point of the book, but they play significant part in her story.

message 756: by Janice, Moderator (new)

Janice (jamasc) | 60069 comments Yes, that will work Kristie.

message 757: by Kristie, Moderator (new)

Kristie | 19316 comments Thanks, Janice.

message 758: by Camilla (new)

Camilla | 2113 comments I was going to read Apparition Lake for the Symbols - Pisces task (lake in title), but then I noticed that the description said that the book takes place in Yellowstone. From what I understand, Yellowstone is situated mainly in Wyoming, but also partly in Idaho and Montana. Would this work for the North American Zodiac Pisces – Wolf task (Read a book set primarily in Alberta, Montana, Idaho, or Wyoming), even if the actual state might change during the book (if they roam around the park) or not be mentioned?

Wolves were transported from Alberta to the Yellowstone National Park to try to repopulate them. I picked the states Montana, Idaho & Wyoming because Yellowstone's area includes them. If your book is set in Yellowstone itself, you are fine. Maybe I should have specified that in the task instructions.

I ran tin eye and it is over 70% so you are good!

message 762: by Janice, Moderator (new)

Janice (jamasc) | 60069 comments Thanks for fielding that questions Jannene.

I hope you enjoy it Mikaleigh. I just started the second book in the series.

message 763: by Camilla (new)

Camilla | 2113 comments Janice: does this work for Gemini – Agate - Read a book with a face in profile on the cover. I mean there is a face in profile, but it's rather small, does it have to be a close-up of the face?

message 764: by Janice, Moderator (new)

Janice (jamasc) | 60069 comments Yes, that will work.

Yes indeed.

Cherie (crobins0) | 21536 comments Janice - now that I have shot down the book for the month of May, I found a title, but I want to check if it is okay to use. Is it okay that "May" is part of a proper name in the title, as in The Lost Summer of Louisa May Alcott ? I just found it today.

message 769: by Sandra, Moderator (new)

Sandra (sanlema) | 11295 comments I hope it is because I have the same one for that task. :)

message 770: by Janice, Moderator (new)

Janice (jamasc) | 60069 comments It's not the context of the word, but the word itself. That means, you may use that book. :)

I have Hawk of May for that task. I've had the ebook forever, and now I don't want to read it. Hopefully, I'll read it and proclaim, "Why didn't I read this sooner?"

message 771: by Cherie (new)

Cherie (crobins0) | 21536 comments I will keep my fingers crossed that it will be a good read for you, Janice! Her first book. I have been pretty lucky with the "firsts" I have read for the challenge, so far this year.

message 772: by Kristie, Moderator (new)

Kristie | 19316 comments I'm considering What Dreams May Come for that task.

At least it's short. :)

Which task is that Kristie?

message 776: by Sandra, Moderator (last edited Mar 08, 2018 04:10AM) (new)

Sandra (sanlema) | 11295 comments Margo, it is for the month of May task. (May in the title)

message 777: by Margo (new)

Margo | 11668 comments D'oh! I didn't even consider "may" in that context 😉

message 778: by Kristie, Moderator (new)

Kristie | 19316 comments Yup. Janice said context does not matter, so I just looked for the word. :)

Janice (jamasc) | 60069 comments Shannon wrote: "Hi Janice, is this book be good for 70% black cover?

I think that's pretty obvious. When it's that obvious, you don't need to ask for a ruling. It's only on books that are questionable that you need a ruling.

message 780: by Cherie (last edited Mar 08, 2018 04:13PM) (new)

Cherie (crobins0) | 21536 comments Kristie wrote: "Yup. Janice said context does not matter, so I just looked for the word. :)"

Then my question has already been answered and Sandra and I can use The Lost Summer of Louisa May Alcott for our challeng task Gemini, Month-May.

I like your title too, Kristie and have added it as an alternate to my list. I already have one, if not two of his books in my challenge.

message 781: by Shannon SA (new)

Shannon SA (shannonsa) | 5 comments Thank you Janice :))

message 782: by Peggy (new)

Peggy (pebbles84) | 15868 comments Janice, I know this has been discussed before but I can't really find a definite answer, so before I read it I'd like to double check.

For Pisces – Water (Read a book with “Water” in the title. Exact word) does At the Water's Edge work?

I thought in the beginning that it wasn't allowed, but in message 711 you made a similar suggestion to someone else, and now I'm not sure.

message 783: by Kristie, Moderator (new)

Kristie | 19316 comments I don’t know about water in the title, but it would work for profile if you don’t have that covered, Peggy.

message 784: by Peggy (new)

Peggy (pebbles84) | 15868 comments Thanks Kristie, but I already read a book for profile on cover.

For all zodiac signs I have at least 3 books that I can read (won't be able to do more than 2 badges), except for Pisces. I don't own any books with 'water' in the title! Except this one, so I'm really hoping it works and that will get me to 3.

message 785: by Kristie, Moderator (new)

Kristie | 19316 comments I figured it was something like that when I typed my response. I know when I ask I usually need it to fit a certain task as well.

message 786: by Janice, Moderator (new)

Janice (jamasc) | 60069 comments Obviously I can't remember from one day to the next what I've said. You asked that question before Peggy, and I see that I never got back to you.

In looking back, I see that there was discussion about the word "fires", and a comment that it needed to be the exact word. I didn't respond to that comment.

And you're right, I did suggest that title as a possibility for that task.

I've totally confused myself. Is there an easy way for me to keep track of all my decisions? UGH!

I'm going to rule in your favour and say that adding an 's to the end of the word doesn't negate it's exactness.

message 787: by Sandra, Moderator (new)

Sandra (sanlema) | 11295 comments Janice wrote: " Is there an easy way for me to keep track of all my decisions? "

You need a secretary to assist you in all your duties in YLTO, Janice.

message 788: by Janice, Moderator (new)

Janice (jamasc) | 60069 comments I'm counting on you all to keep me on the straight and narrow. :)

message 789: by Peggy (new)

Peggy (pebbles84) | 15868 comments Haha, I wasn't sure if I already asked it or just had the thought that I should.

I can imagine it's hard keeping track with the hundreds of questions we ask..

Peggy (pebbles84) | 15868 comments Oh, and thanks! :)

message 791: by Ashley (new)

Ashley | 520 comments For the Gemini superhero task it says the genre must be listed as “dystopian”, would “dystopia” also be acceptable?

Janice (jamasc) | 60069 comments Mariab wrote: "Janice wrote: "Yes."

No difference. They are two forms of the same word.

ETA. I probably added to the confusion when I said that "Dystopian" needed to be listed as the genre. I would have been more correct to say "Dystopia". One is an adjective and the other a noun.

message 795: by Ashley (new)

Ashley | 520 comments Thanks Janice! I figured it would be fine but wanted to double check since it was in quotations.

@janice, I was sure it was blue until I saw it beside a blue book! Unfortunate but I'll read it next month anyway!
