SOLVED: Adult Fiction > SOLVED. 1800's England. Heroine is poor and helping father (sick or in debt?). She's disguised as a boy, working for the Rich Hero. Character named Alexandria/Alex/Alexander? Similar to Lisa Kleypas or Judith McNaught? [s]

Sara Yassin | 5 comments I read a romance novel no more than 10 years ago i think, it was set in the 1800 period in England Definitely but im not sure which city maybe London? i dont remember everything but what i do remember is that the girl is poor and she's helping her father who's sick i think or in debt .. so she disguises herself as a boy and goes to work to this rich gentleman.. either the girl's name is Alexandria and she calls herself Alex or the guys name is Alex short for Alexander.. she works as his umm like the boy who takes care of him .. she shaves his face and fetches his breakfast and whatnot .. and one time she gets drunk when she goes to his gentlemen's club while playing poker and then he discovers that shes a girl .. and he sleeps with her .. another time he was wearing nothing but his trousers and he notices her looking at him weird.. it's all so muddy but im dddying to know what this novel is.. i thought it was judith mcCnaught or lisa kleypas but it wasnt. Pleaase help me :'l

Sara, around what year did you read this book?

What's the location (country, region)?

Please add plot details and genre to your topic header using the edit link on the desktop (not mobile) website. Someone is more likely to recognize your book. Just ask if you'd like help with this.

That's good, Sara. You provided a great description for your book. I added just a few more points to the topic header. Never know what will trigger someone's memory or help with an online search.

OH MY LORD, MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ME !!!! i FOUND IT, it's Lady Rogueby by Suzanne Enoch !!! it's so funny because i remember that the cover was a lady holding a flower with the back of her dress unbuttoned, but Lisa Kleypas has the same covers and when none of them were the one i was looking for, i thought i got them confused. oh my god thank you so much cant wait to tell my sister
