Remembering what a book is about?

Looking around at GR members, I am astounded at the number of books members have read.

How do other GR members recall the contents of the books that have been read?

It depends on the book. A review helps me to remember the basics. Making sure I have Mark my Goodreads page, also helps.

I once remembered all I read, but now, only certain books will be embedded in my memory, while others won't.

I agree with both Betty & Skye. Some books stick, but I've read a lot over the years & some I recall only with the help of my review here & sometimes not even well then. This is especially true of the 2 & 3 star books that fade into the background of their genre.
