WHAT? WHY? Why is her Dad being sentanced to death?! Not happy!

Okay I see now why it is partly his fault that the ghosts escaped. Fine, death is a little harsh, but he abandoned his job.

But if the Elders and townspeople had being paying more attention, they would have seen that he abandoned his post like two years ago and would have done something about it then? It's only when things affect them that they take action? That is not fair!

But, like I said, it's only partly Baba's fault. The other half of the fault is the townspeople! If they had respected Laylee or helped her instead of taking advantage of her, the ghosts escaping, again, could have been avoided.

What, what? I don't get why Laylee is ungrateful?!

Why have Oliver and Alice been taken back home? Ugh so many questions! I need to finish this! (The pace is picking up which is amazing!)

This is actually so horrible. Laylee is a poor neglected child. Her father is mean and stupid and annoying! How can you not love your child as much as your spouse?!

The townspeople are vile! Spitting on her immediately after she just watched her father die?! Like what even is that all about?!

On a positive note, I think that the writing style for the scene of her fathers death is really good. I don't love it - as in I would have preferred it to have been written in first person with more emotion. But the way it is written makes it very realistic. It's hazy, detached and very vague. It reflects very well with how Laylee must be feeling; detached from reality as she watches her father being murdered. She is heartbroken and unable to feel anything because if she lets herself feel the tiniest thing, her emotions will explode and overflow.
