Ch11 (view spoiler)[I really like the creatures on this planet - especially Aunt Beast. And I have to say that ‘aunt’ seems like the perfect description/name to call them by ;D (hide spoiler)]

Finished! (view spoiler)Is anyone interested in continuing the series? I’d love to read more of it c:

Overall, I'm glad I read it, but don't think it was my kind of book, despite the things I liked about it. So...don't think I'll continue with the series.
Natalie wrote: "Finished! [spoilers removed].."I was thinking about continuing, I'd have to see if the audiobooks are available
Natalie wrote: "@Andrea let me know if you want to BR the rest then? c:"Sure! I found them all but had to place some holds. When did you want to start?
Whenever you're ready is fine with me honestly, the first book was an easy read so I don't think it would be too hard to read them at the same time as other BRs if I ended up with more than one running at the same time XD

I also like the no nonsense of it... to the point.

I don't know if I liked the name aunt but everything else I guess was good.

I have finished. And although it was a quick and cute read, I wasn't a big fan of it, and I don't think that I will continue it. I just felt the story and characters a little bit flat:(

yeah I think this is going to be one of those cases where the movie might be a whole lot better than the book...

Oh yes! I am actually pretty excited for the movie.
I think the concept was good, but just felt flat for me.
I see you rated it 5 stars, what did you think of it?
The movie is only the first book. I didn't like the book the first time I read it as a kid, but I liked it better later. It's a little esoteric -- so are the others, but I liked them, especially the third one.
Going to go ahead and jump in here. We saw the movie yesterday and the whole time I just kept thinking "Man, I need to reread the book; I don't REMEMBER what happened." So I got home and tadah there's a buddy read for it. Sorry for the comment dump as I read it in about 1.5 hours, but I'll keep an eye on the thread. It's such an odd little book that I like to chat with other people re: what they think. Since I read it many times as a kid, this read was more to compare it with the movie, which I'll be doing.Ch 1-2

@Keyona This was the thing I noticed from this read through that I never really picked up on as a kid (view spoiler)
Done-overall, something I would have enjoyed a lot more had I read it when I was younger. I do think I will really like the movie though!

I didn't see the movie but I don't like that he were represented as Asian. (view spoiler)
