Hello! Can I say that I think this book looks cute and possibly bittersweet? Can't wait to read and discuss it.
Hello! :)
I have read it before, but not for a few years. So I can discuss it almost as though it’s my first time.

Do you mind if I start reading it tonight?

Ok cool!
Ok cool!
So far, I think R. J. Palacio is really good at writing from the POV of a boy in fifth grade. I find Auggie relatable despite the fact I'm female and in college. This is because he was homeschooled before he transfers to the middle school in the story, and I was homeschooled all the way through high school, then had to adjust to college, so I can relate to Auggie's discomfort with going to school for the first time. Also, we both love Star Wars, lol.
I only got through the first two chapters, but it’s as good as I remember so far. :)

Yeah, I actually think it's pretty easy to read too. Any thoughts so far about what you like and what you don't?

I like most things about it. I can’t really think of anything specific I dislike.

Alright, I guess we both should go read more of it then so we can form clearer opinions. :)

So, I didn’t read much of this, because of my other current read. But that’s finished, so I’ll have more time for this one! :)
About halfway through. I’m enjoying it! :)
One thing I don’t like is all the (mild) crudity. It’s not a huge deal, since a lot of middle schoolers do talk like that, and it’s not heavy swearing or anything. But I used to think this book was okay for seven or eight year olds, and I’m reconsidering that.

Hey Raevyn! Sorry I didn't respond in the past two days. Thanksgiving was busy and I wanted a break from reading on Friday, but now I'm almost halfway through the book and finding it enjoyable. And yes, I was going to say near the beginning that I wasn't enjoying the crude humor, but I had to remember that this was written mainly for middle school kids and not adults, so my opinion in the matter doesn't really count. I don't think seven or eight year olds should read it though, not because of the crude humor but because Via's POV is from a high school level that they wouldn't grasp.

That’s okay. I was sort of busy too. :)
I agree with all of your comments.
I agree with all of your comments.
Also, in case you haven’t reached it yet, Via’s boyfriend’s POV has no capital letters or quotation marks. It’s a good section, plot wise, but a bit of a headache to read.

Cool beans! Btw I'm trying to finish this book today, because tomorrow I have to prepare for going back to school on Monday (which means doing HW. :/) But it's so easy to read I think I can make it if I try! :)

I might be able to finish it as well—I’m not sure yet. :D
Good luck with your homework. We don’t go back until Wednesday.

Done as well. :)
It's a good review of the content in the book. Is everything you mention things you personally had issues with, or is it just a review to let people who are sensitive be aware of those things? Either way, I think people could benefit from your thoughts on the book's literary status as well (whether it's well written, has good plot / characters / themes, etc.) :)

It all bothers me slightly, but it’s mostly for other, more sensitive people. I have some friends on here who I know are like that.
I’ll add more literary analysis in my next review, I think. :)

Ok, that's fine. I'm still thinking about what to put in my review of Wonder without copying yours. :)
