10.6 - Who's Up For a Challenge?
Read a book that fits into ANOTHER Goodreads challenge group's challenge. You MUST be a member of the challenge group and provide a link to your challenge tracking thread. For tips on how to add a link to a post, click on the (some html is ok) above the comment box (next to add book/author). If you don't belong to any other Goodreads challenge groups, read a book that fits into the BookRiot's 2017 Read Harder Challenge. This thread might be helpful: Other Goodreads reading challenges?
Required: Include a link to your challenge tracking thread or to BookRiot's Read Harder Challenge when you post.

This thread is now open!

Anne (Booklady) Molinarolo (wwwgoodreadscomAnneMolinarolo) | 754 comments I belong to a couple of "Challenge" Groups, but haven't been active in them for over a year. I was even thinking about removing myself from them, since I really am active only here, YLTO, Cozy Mysteries, and Boxall's, and a couple more.

What should I do? in YLTO (You'll love this one! A book club and more) we do have monthly challenges as well as an annual challenge that I have 8 more books to read to complete.

That's a good question, Anne. I'd also like to know if YLTO (You'll Love This One) qualifies as a challenge group. We have the 2017 annual challenge wrapping up end of December, the 2018 annual challenge which I haven't posted yet because I'm still writing it starting January, plus monthly challenges for Dec, Jan & Feb. We have "Topplers" every other month which are read-a-thons with "tasks". We don't specifically call them challenges, though they certainly take the form of one.

Anne (Booklady) Molinarolo (wwwgoodreadscomAnneMolinarolo) | 754 comments Hi Janice. :)

I hope YLTO counts, or I can't finish because it seems silly to do a task on a challenge in a group I've not been active in.

Janice (jamasc) | 43 comments I'll keep my fingers crossed for you. I clicked on "Groups" under the Community tab and typed "challenge" in under the search function. You'll Love This One came up on the first page of results.

Yes!!!!!!!! Fist pump...until the Mods make a ruling.

Kristina Simon (kristinasimon) | 11204 comments If you have a thread in YLTO (or any other group) where you're keeping track of books to meet a specific goal then, sure, read a book to fit that goal/challenge and use your tracking thread for your link.

If you're not keeping a tracking thread, or you're not participating in any other challenges, you can just choose one of the 24 BookRiot tasks and read a book that fits that task.

Trish (trishhartuk) | 3675 comments Would any of the books for the mini challenges in the Cozy Mysteries group work? They usually have a five-book mini challenge every month, for example: https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...

Karen Michele Burns (klibrary) | 2062 comments What do we do if the group is private?
Also, can we link to the post where we claim the book in another challenge if we don't have a tracking post of our own on the group?

Yes, you can link to the post where you claim books for Reading With Style.

If you cannot provide a link to your challenge tracking thread (i.e., the group is private and no one can see the discussions), then you'll need to choose one task from BookRiot's 2017 Read Harder Challenge and read a book that fits it.

Thanks, Kristina --- I'll use Reading with Style:)

Brooke | 1109 comments I am a member of the PopSugar group. Since the winter challenge carries over into 2018, can I use PopSugar's 2018 challenge? Or does it have to be 2017? Just making sure all of my i's are dotted and t's crossed... :-)

You can see it here: Bingo 2018 My entry is #13
