Booknblues | 12060 comments I noticed that my book page was missing several of the books which I had recently read. I searched my books and found the ones which were missing sitting lonely on a page of their own. When I went in and saved them and looked at the page again, I realized somewhere in the first 30 books, that it had skipped from 2017 to 2016.

Now I no longer have record of what I read this year. :( It is a small problem in the greater scheme of things, but for me it is extremely aggravating.

Jgrace | 3939 comments I was missing some of my 2017 books. When I searched them by title they were on my read books list but the read date was not there. I know that I entered the dates, but for some reason it wasn't saved. I fixed it, but GR still has my total count for the year wrong.

Jgrace | 3939 comments And I agree. It may be a small problem, but it's aggravating.

Jason Oliver | 3046 comments I had this problem so I double check my recently read books regularly. I'm OCD like that

Amy | 12916 comments For some odd reason one of my books got accidentally counted twice. So they are one ahead of the true number. And its impossible to tell which one got counted twice. But, I already made my goal, and won't reach 100, so its okay if the count is off by one.

message 6: by Booknblues (new)

Booknblues | 12060 comments I think my count is off by one, but who knows how many have disappeared. My goal was 80 for the year and I am at 73 or 74, so I would like it to be accurate, plus I only use goodreads to track my books. :(

Sushicat | 843 comments I always double check that it really appears where it should. Sometimes i have to redo the read dates. I have a suspicion that some of my ratings have disappeared...

message 8: by Amy (new)

Amy | 12916 comments I just found that two books I had read in November we're 15 pages down on my read list rather than right at the top. You really have to check that you clicked on the dates.

message 9: by Booknblues (new)

Booknblues | 12060 comments The ones I missed were ones which I had just finished and they did have read dates already. I always update what I am reading and most of my books are on kindle so they show when I have finished. They were on my list and then they disappeared.

Since, I had recently finished them I noted their absence, but any earlier in the year, I wouldn't miss.

Kelly | 1002 comments Somehow one of my books from last year dropped off also.

Rachel N. | 2241 comments Good reads now has a note on the my book page that states: some of our members have reported that not all read dates are showing on this page. While we work on making sure they correctly display on this page, you can still view your dates on your review or on the book page.

One of my books from November has disappeared. I have been tracking in my own spreadsheet ever since shelfari disappeared just in case something happens to goodreads. Hopefully it's fixed soon.

Jason Oliver | 3046 comments I have found if you delete then redo the read dates it will add the book.

Book Concierge (tessabookconcierge) | 8414 comments There is a known bug .... check the Goodreads Feedback Group

The Goodreads team has actually asked people to NOT edit the read dates. The bug seems to be a display issue ... the information is already there, but not displaying correctly. Their fix will want to restore original info, so if you edit / add read dates that may further mess with your shelves.

Agree that this is a royal pain in the posterior!

I've already edited the ones which I noticed, but I will restrain from editing further.

Ladyslott | 1880 comments It's getting frustrating though. Today I went to look for a book, wasn't sure if I tagged it. Out of 92 books read only 17 are showing.

message 17: by Sushicat (last edited Nov 21, 2017 10:09PM) (new)

Sushicat | 843 comments I find that the information on the read date on the book is correct, but it does not get displayed on the read shelf. My challenge tracker shows the right number of books (I also use a spreadsheet to keep to be on the safe side).

That is more than frustrating, I would freak out!

Karin | 9218 comments There is a note on GR about this--apparently they are working on this.

Anita Pomerantz | 9280 comments How annoying!

Fortunately, I keep track of all the books I read for the year in my Member Challenge Tracking thread, and it looks like they are all listed in my 2017 Challenge . . .so presuming they are fine on my shelf too.

I wonder why that has happened! How frustrating. Hopefully it resolved by now.
