Hi everyone. I’m looking for a book I read a few years ago.

It is about a group of 4 kids in 2 separate families who spend each summer together. The parents get along well. The kids play in the woods every day and are doing a production of Peter Pan. Over time, one of the girls starts to rebel and make herself dirty and undesirable on purpose. It turns out that her father is abusing her and so her and her brother kill him.

The story is based around the disappearance of the father and then his daughter a few years later. It is written from the perspective of one of the other children who has come back to their town to visit. She had flashbacks of her time as a child through out the book.

There is a 5th character called “tock” in the book. She plays the alligator in the production of Peter Pan. She ends up marrying the brother of the girl who the book is from the perspective of.

Been trying to find this book forever but I’ve had no luck!
