"Ummm no maj...no ones staying behind...lets go"
"You guys keep them distracted, I'll go get some stuff going to drive them away." I say, taking a sharp turn to the right away from the group. I run a few yards away from them, then I stop and kneel. I start tapping my finger delicately on the floor, until I find a spot that sounded hollow. I pounded my fist on it and a panel popped open. I went to work.

"And... got it!" I yell exceedingly as I plug in a wire. I get and start dashing towards the battle.
"How long until it starts?" Zaynah asked.
"Uh... about 3 minutes. Give or take a few seconds." I say, as I duck and slash with my dagger.

suddenly one of the monsters beckoned forward. i stumbled back and tripped over the wires. it stuttered but mae quickly fixed givign me a glare. the moster smirked and i saw it yelloing teeth. i shuddered...it pounced and finally mae's invention sputters to life
I was busy fighting off a vicious-looking Empousi, when it.....(( what does it do??? The invention?))
(I used the maze's illusion to our advantage. I re-wired its system so it will work for us.)
"Here we go!" I shouted to the others. "Close your eyes!" I closed my eye lids and started running blind away from the direction of monster shouts. I heard a boom, like a giant fire work going off, and then a flash of light. I slowly opened my eyes to see a crowd of monsters, all standing completely still, like Medusa victims. But, they were breathing, and some of their ears were twitching. I scanned around, looking for my friends. I saw Ruby curled up in a ball on the ground, eyes closed, her hands covering her ears. Zaynah was far from me, she had her hands over her eyes, and the edge of her shirt was singed for some reason. Maj was behind me, lying on the ground with her eyes closed, hands over her ears. Everyone was fine. "Its ok, guys. You can get up now."

I slowly pried my hands from my ears and uncurled. I crept to stand beside the others and looked around. "What happened?" I asked, amazed.
"Uh... the maze had a few tricks up its sleeve that I discovered. Now they are at our disposal. I hope. Anyway, I have two words that did this. Nerve. Points."

"Uh... I don't think those are whispers." I say, looking around. Out of the ground slithered up a boa consticter, tounge flickering in the air. "Oh come on! How many snakes are we gonna have to kill?"

I shrugged and said to Mae as I moved into position, "Aw what the heck, it would be dull without snakes! At least these bad guys have flair!"
"Yeah. And fangs. But we are running out of time. I think the best stratigy at this point is to just cut through the monster waves. Not fight them all, just charge through them as fast as possible. We have no time left." I say, as I walk up to the boa. I flick out my foot and plant a kick to the side of its neon green head. It rolls over and is temperalily stunned. "Tally ho!" I shout and start walking towards the nearest wall.
We emerge into a completly white room, that was about the size of a football field. In in the middle was 6 people, all tied together in rope bonds. Their heads where drooping, and their bodies were limp.
i stiffen. then run to the boy in the centre bound by strong ropes. his eyes are closed. my hand brushes over his skin. his brown hair dangles over his close eyes and his lightly olive skin is cold. as i touch the ropes i scream ad my stomach twists and i am hurled back. my back hits the floor and i wince.
"They're enchanted. We can't touch them, so we need a different approach." I say, observing the captives. I draw my dagger and slowly advance on the ropes. I poke the bindings with the blade, and it flies out of my hand and smacks the wall were Zaynah had hit it. "Do you think you could levitate me just about their heads, Ruby?"
ruby levitates mae and i stare in astonishment as mae hangs in the air.
"Toss me my dagger, Zaynah." she does, and I catch it. I am slowly lowering towards their heads, and I reach down to the boy's ropes. I stick the blade on the inner part of the rope, and thankfully, I didn't fly backwards. I start sawing through the ropes until they snapped and the boy fell to the ground. I went to work on the others as fast as I could.
i run to daniels limp body. i place my finger to daniels pulse. i freeze. there is no pulse. i begin to shudder...hes not breathing. i shake him but he doesnt wake. "daniel kyle diego e'spranz~a wake up s hand please or so help me i will" his hand twitches. i run my hand to his blondy brown streaked hair and sigh. his hand tightens around my wrist and he bolts up. i screama nd mae trunes. "what the...oh my grace...Zaynah" he stands and i stand to. we simply stare... he look older. his hazel brown eyes look into my light brown ones. he grabs me and pulls me into a fierce embrace. without thinking i begin to sob ...
I drifted down to the ground, putting my dagger back in its pocket. I smiled at Zaynah and her happy reunion and Maj and Kat happily hugging. I glanced down at the other prisoners, scared to investigate.
I crouch down next to the smallest of the bunch, and stretch a shaky hand to her face. I poke her blonde hair away from her face and see the familiar freckles. I put my hand on her cheek and smile. Warm. "Gwen! Wake up! Its morning!" I shake her shoulders gently and her eyes flutter open, revealing icy blue eyes. I smiled. She looked around, observing her surroundings, then looked at Bria and our parents. "Lets wake 'em up." she said, her little voice cheery.
I look around at all the happy faces, and muster up a smile. I turn away, but before I could respectively leave them for privacy, something - no, someone-catches my eye. I gasp and freeze, my eyes locked on a slowly waking body on the floor, ropes falling from his shoulders.He looks up, his brown eyes meet my green and blue ones and I let out a small squeak. I watch, unmoving, as he struggles to pull the remaining ropes from his shoulders. I slowly walk towards him and whisper, "Is it you? You're here? But how? You..." I collapsed to the floor and begin sobbing almost as much as Zaynah across the room.
He looks at me and grins his lopsided grin. "Hey, Ruby. Do ya know what this place is? It's crazy!" I nod, and, hiccuping, look at him again. With his nerdy lab-looking glasses and his crooked teeth, I reach out and hug him hard. I sniffle and wipe the tears from my face, and say softly, "How'd you get here? I thought...I thought I'd never see you again!"
He grinned again and shrugged. "Hey, I dunno, some weird dudes just took me- I was reading a really good book, shame to leave it - and took me here, along with," he gestured to the others, who were embracing my companions, "them. So, anything new since you moved?"
I shiver, on the verge of tears again. "Oh, I thought... after I moved... You're gonna still talk to me?"
"Aw, Ruby, just because a couple of girls told me you had a crush on me, and chased me around pestering me if I liked you, won't stop me talking to you! I know you never wanted your friends to pester me like that..."
I stopped sniffling and said hopefully, "You mean it? You're gonna talk to me?"
"Aw sure, besides," He leaned in and whispered in my ear, "I kinda like you back."
i see ruby sobbing and smiling at the same time and help mae with the rest of the prisoners. i walk up to mae, making sure daniel doenst leave my side..."whose this rube?"

I watch Zaynah happy reunion with Daniel. I in my turn hug Kat's body. "You're safe now, Kitty-Kat."I open a shadow to my old room, and drop Kat's lifeless body in it. Then I look at the others.
"Anyone want a lift?"
I look up suddenly, my eyes wide. "NO!" Everyone turns in surprise to look at me. "No! I- I can sense..." With that three large, hissing figures entered the room. "Hello young half-bloods... You have followed our clues, we see..." All three creatures were still in the shadows, but their voice was creepily melded. Melded into one, long, hissing voice.
I'm shaking Daniel's hand. "Daniel? Nice to meet you. I'm Maj. Now, you're going into this shadow, and you're going to end up in a bed room, OK. When you're there, yell for Debby. Tell her I send you and that you need to go home. She'll take care of you."I shove Daniel in the shadow, and reach for Mae when I hear Ruby's scream.

"ummmm, zaynah your forgettign who taught you to fight liek you do today"

It showed 4 demi-gods combining their own magic beyond the gods to defeat the Mistress of Magic. So she set out to destroy all 4." they hissed, sending chills down my spine with every word. With a flash, 4 figures stood there. Charles, Curtis, Celia, and Catherine stood there, eyes shining with pride.

"Yep. On the nose, sis." Charles said, flashing a smile.
"Hecate was behind the captor of our loved ones?" I asked calmly. They all nod their narrow heads at the same time. "Tell me this: Why? Simple question. Simple answer." I say, dagger at the ready.

In one smooth motion I'm holding my bow, and am aiming an arrow at the head of one of the creatures."Permission to kill?" I ask Ruby.
"No! We need there information." I hiss to Maj. I turn to the four. "Explain Hecate's need for you in her plan." I ask calmly.
"Why should we tell you-" Catherine started but Celia held up a silencing hand.
"If the child wants to know before her death, so be it." she told her sister. She turned to me, cold green eyes flaring. "We are simple creations of Hecate. Each of us is made to activate your greatest weakness. Charles is meant to trigger Zaynah's weakness to her loved ones, particularly blinding romance." Celia gestured to Charles, who stepped forward and looked to Zaynah. His image flickered for a moment, revealing the spiting image of Daniel. Zaynah gasped and stumbled forward.
"Zaynah! Come here, and lets go catch a movie." Charles said in Daniels voice. Zaynah nodded her head dreamily and stepped forward. I held her back and waved my hand in front of her glazed eyes. She shook out of the trance and looked at me with sorrow. Charles nodded his head and zapped back to his original form.
Celia smiled in approval at Charles, then turned to me. "Curtis is designed to trigger Maj's worry of failing." Curtis stepped forward and his imagine flickered also. He grew about 3 feet, thus being about 9 foot 2. He had black slicked back hair, his brown eyes burning with power.
"Father." Maj whispered in terror.
"Maj. I am so disappointed in you. You have failed me." he roared in a deep voice. Maj's eyes watched in complete horror. Curtis reappeared in his normal form, smiling with crooked teeth.

I heard Mae yelling "Negative!" and the next thing I remember is my Father telling me what a disappointment I am. Anger flows through me as if my Father had just told me I wasn't his daughter. I aim for a leg, and yell "Permission to maim?"
(Aw geez! Sorry! Got side tracked. Typing rest now.)
"c'mon mae we need an answer" i say pointign at an arm...i aim..."mae!" "maj go for the elft it's weaker and ill go for the right arm it doesnt lead to the heart so it wont be fatal"
"I am meant to aggravate Ruby's fear of not being able to fit in." with that, Celia bellowed smoke from her mouth. Objects appeared in the fog that surrounded the room, and each on was a face. My face, Maj's, and Zaynah's appeared in the fog, all screwed up in anger.
"You'll never be one of us!" shouted the replica of Maj's face.
"You have been holding us back this whole time!" Zaynah growled.
"No one ever wanted you here." my face sneered.
"I-I'm sorry!" Ruby whimpered before she collapsed on her knees in tears. The fog cleared and revealed Celia smiling with delight.
"Then, Catherine, is created for you, my dear. Not only to make you fear serpents, but also not knowing what to do in time." Celia sneered. Catherine slithered forward, and a pop went off like a firework exploding. I looked up to see a 20 feet tall cobra, baring its pearl white fangs at me.
I shrieked and fell backwards in shock. I scooted backwards, away from the beast.
"What is 3 multiplied by 23 converted into pie? You have 5 seconds to answer or your friends die." she hissed. My mind was rushing, searching for answer.
"Uh... 23... plus 49..." I mumbled.
"Times up!" she shouted before her huge serpent body lunged towards Ruby.
"No!" I screamed, then she poofed back to her original form.
"You'll never be one of us!" shouted the replica of Maj's face.

"Mae, I need an answer or I'll shoot. Do I have permission to maim and/or seriously injure?" I say through gritted teeth.
"Yeah. Go to town." I say, standing. I charge Catherine, dagger poised.
I launch arrows aimed at knees, guts and shoulders. The arrows are made of specially treated celestial bronze to make sure that they maim and don't kill immediately. It's hard to see through my rage fit, but I trust on my instincts and training. You just need one to talk...... Three is for sending a message......
I scramble to my feet, but I'm still in a trance. "Sisters? I never had any sisters... Sisters are friends...Friends...Friends..." I collapse in a heap in front of Celia.
She grins and aims for the kill...
Slash, dodge. Slash, dodge. Same unite over and over again. Catherine was fast, but so was I. I glanced around to see Zaynah and Charles fighting, Ruby and Celia, and then Maj and Curtis. I yowl in pain as I look to see Catherine had planted a slash with her claws at my face while I was distracted. I growl at her, and fake a left roll and high kick her in the mouth. She stumbles back, holding her jaw. She opens her mouth to reveal a broken fang, the point on the floor.
As Celia gets closer, I don't wake up. Closer...Closer...
"Ruby! Remember the songs!" I shout before swiping with my dagger again. I cart wheel backwards and put some distance between Catherine and I. "Please don't take my Ruby away." I sing to the melody of You Are My Sunshine.
"RUBY!" I hear Zaynah yell. I turn, and release an arrow. With a THUD it pierces the skull of the thing hanging over Ruby. I don't stop to look in Ruby is OK, because I can hear the anger of the other two creatures. I drop to the floor, and feel. Tunnels! "Please make this work...." I mutter, and open the tunnel under my feet.
With a shoop. Maj is swallowed by the ground and I closes behind her. "Yaa!" I shriek in surprise.
