"Alrighty. Lets do some slicing and dicing." I mutter. I dash off into the bushes away from sight and await the beast to show herself.
i climp up the hedge and place myself on the thin branch grateful for my tightrope lessons. mae was right. three chimera beckon towards us. smile. i reach for my quiver and place an arrom in place. i draw and let fly. my first arrow hits a chimera in the chest. maj comes and stabs its waist where ame stabs its heart.
my second arrow digs between the chimera two picers. it scream...at least i think its a scream* and is stabbed in the back by both mae and maj. it falls to its ide motionless.
the third chimera however gains on mae and maj its eyes glistening and pincers clicking madly.

"Oh boy!" I shout as I turn to see the huge beast advancing. I back flip out of the way. Unfortunately, Maj didn't do the same. She stood there like a dear in headlights. "No!" I shout. I lunge at her, knocking her out of the way. She collapsed on the ground next to me, out of harms way. Unlike me. The chimera ran straight into me instead of Maj. I fell to the ground, great pain surging through my body. The snake portion of the creature was snapping at me at lightning speed. The chimera stood over me, growling with its lion head. With one slash of its mighty paws, I was blind with pain. A huge gash was left in my arm. My dagger clattered to the ground as my hand fell. I felt my body start to go numb from excruciating pain. With a pained breath, I rapped my hand around the dagger, and plunged it into the chest of the beast. It cried in pain, as I heard a thump of it falling over. I dropped my dagger to the ground, and the world went dark.
i scream. all i saw was mae going down and her eyes closing. i saw maj's wide terrified eyes staring up at me. she sat onthe floor rocking like a child. i walked up to mae and felt her pulse. i lay my hand on her arm adn whispered in a low voice:
powers from my hand to come
pain away, her arm be numb
wash away all blood all fear
make the wound all minor, mere
leave but all a memory scar
wash away a colour of tar.
fix her arm to what it was

the blood cleared and nothing but a faint scar was left. mae's eyes fluttered open. the strength of the magic tired me and i slumped over exhausted...

"Fine." I groan. I suddenly have a pop of memory. "How is Maj?!?!" I say, frantically looking for Maj.
She's...um...she's fine." "a little in shock perhaps." i turned to Maj. she was sitting upright now tying her hair back. "see. she fine!" "and worry about yourself ok."
I climb out of the bushes, slightly annoyed because no one had told me exactly what to do, and I had been hiding in those bushes for about ten minutes while Mj, Mae, and Zaynah beat the heck out of those chimeras. "Well thanks for letting me know guys! Come on! I was wai-" I suddenly caught sight of Mae on the ground, Zaynah leaning over her. "Oh gosh! What happened?" I rush to Mae's side, and immediately do a magical check-over. Finally, I looked up and nodded. "You did a good job, Zaynah. She's fine now, just a little out of breath. What happened, anyway? I couldn't really see much through the bushes."
"Chimaeras... Why always Chimaeras?" I muttered it like a mantra I knew I had a panic attack, but I couldn't stop it. "No more Chimaeras. Please no more Chimaeras." I kept rocking like a little child. Child. I see Quinn and Olivia in moments of their life I'll never attend. First day at school. Gratuation. First job. Wedding. Anniversaries. Retirement. Death. Death. Death. STOP! I yell inside. Death belongs to my Father, and he doesn't want me dead. He doesn't want me anywhere near him. I snap out of my panic attack and rebraid my hair. "Everyone OK?" I ask, my voice pitched a little higher than it was just moments before.
We're fine. Are you ok. .. Emphasise I the YOU!
"Well... that was an adventure in about 2 minutes." I say joyfully. "The life of a demi-god. Plus what ever I am." Once a good full silence went on for a while, I broke it. "Lets move on in this maze!" I shout enthusiastically. I get up, sway a little, and shake my head out of it. I start walking towards the nearest opening in the maze.

"Yeah, I'm fine." I mutter with a little smile. "Couldn't be bet-" I start saying before I fall face first into the maze floor."Auch!" I yell surprised. "Who in the name of my Father put that root there? I'd swear it wasn't there a moment before."
suddenly another root grabs my ankle and i fall to the floor. behind me mae falls along with ruby. i look down and see the snaky fingers of a nymph clasped around my leg. i scream as her branchy claws dig into y skin. it puls us back and my body begins to diasppear into the hedge, maj and mae and ruby goin fast behind me.g
"Hold on!" I shout. I kick at the roots but they keep entangling my body. I sit up and climb the roots. I am on top of the roots, hands holding on. I pry my fingers into the roots and try to pull them apart. It slowed them down, but not much. I looked up to see Maj swallowed whole by the thick roots. I stare in horror of the sight. Zaynah was up to her neck in the plants and looked unnaturally purple. Ruby was about up to the waist, trying to zap down the roots with purple lightning. My whole right leg was covered in alive spaghetti. I grab the nearest piece of root around my leg and start poking it. It falls to the ground and sinks into the earth as if it were quick sand. I then grab another root and poke it again. It gave the same reacting the last one did. Soon I was frantically poking the roots intertwining me. When the roots had retreated down to my knee, I risk a glance at my friends. Where Maj and Zaynah had been, there was a heap of non-moving vines. There was just Ruby's hand sticking out of a huge thing of vines. I look down to see the roots reawakening and starting to rapidly grow up my legs again. I draw my dagger as a last resort. The roots had moved up to my arm pits and were quickly advancing. I slashed with my dagger at the roots there were squeezing my body like a mummy.
((Mae, please tell me you can delete that???))This is actually quite peaceful. I think, as a try to reach Alfred. Here, alone, in the dark. The dark! That should count as shadow, right? I start focussing on Zaynah. Bring me close to Zaynah. I want to be with Zaynah. Bring me to- I can hear Zaynah curse very colourfully as I show up with my feet near her head. "Sorry!" I whisper. "Do you still have that knife?"
"Yes, it's in my boot. Why?"
"Because I need to cut Alfred free. I can't reach him."
After a bit of a struggle, that contained at least three moves I thought were impossible to do when you have a spine, I managed to get Alfred free out of my pocket. "Alfred, listen up. I got a job for you. I need you to chew. Can you do that? Chew."

I gasp in all the air I can get. That was close. I look over at Zaynah. "You OK?" I say, because more words than that is really hard at the moment.
She doesn't say anything but points to the other two wraps. "Arnold, chew!" I say. After we get both Mae and Ruby out, we run as fast as we can away from the roots.
(UUUmmmm oookkkkk theeen)I give a muffled scream as I'm yanked below the surface. I flail my arms, trying to find something, anything, to hold onto.
Im fine i say in answer to majs questing worried look. Jow about youu i look er over and except for a smal gash in her right kbee she seems to be fine. I help ruby an mae to their feet an we plinder around for a couple of seconds focusing on nothing.

(sry, didn't see Maj's post)I doubled over, coughing and wheezing. "That was a close one." I said between gasps.
i patted ruby on the back! "whoooooooooooooooooooooooo"

"there's nothing.were safe..for now!"
I nodded and said,"C'mon, we should get going before something else finds us here." I started towards a tunnel(is that what is is called???)and took the right hand turn.
a unearthly snarl came form the dark corners...i grabbed rubys arm and spun her around and we walk into the oppsoite direction." bad idea" i say to her quietly! maj is behind us humming a tune...i think it's michael jackson. "ummm. ruby, can u hear that"

I laugh a Maj. "Thriller!" I sing along.
"NOTHING!" i shout over them. i begin to sing along and within minutes were all singing and laughing like as if were...i stop in my tracks. I feel light headed...as if the air is not pure oxygen!

As we run into a huge atrium we can hear a booming voice yell "LADIES AND GENTLEMEN, WELCOME TO ANOTHER AAAAAMAAAAAZING EDITION OF SAY THE WORD!"A jingle plays, and we see what I assume is the host appear on a gigantic stage.
"AND HERE ARE OUR CONTESTANTS OF TODAY!"
We are engulfed by a white light, and I have to squint to see the host on stage.
"Who's that?" I whisper to Mae.
"Geryon. Used to run Triple G." she whispers back.
"Used to?"
"Yeah, Percy killed him."
"Great... He regenerated."
"COME CLOSER, COME CLOSER!" Geryon yells.
We graduatly walk up to the stage.
"HAVE A SEAT!"
We sit, each in separate benches. In front of us are buzzers.
"What are we supposed to do?" Zaynah ask.
"WE HAVE A CONTESTANT NEW TO THE SHOW!" Greyon informs the audience. "IT'S SIMPLE! I ASK YOU A QUESTION, YOU SAY THE WORD!"
We exchange confused looks, but say nothing. Another jingle plays.
"FIRST QUESTION. OWL IS TO ALBERTA AS RAVEN IS TO...WHAT?"
I look over at everyone else, but they aren't making any move to answer the question, so I stood up and slammed my fist down on the buzzer, thinking, What the heck? Why not?"YEEEEESSS?" Geryon said, turning, grinning, to me.
"Um, I don't really know that answer, so can you find another question please?" I say as polightly as I could muster. I sit back down, folding my hands in my lap. The others gaped at me. Geryon looked like he was about to explode.
((WOW Ruby, a post longer than 140 characters :P))"NO, CAN'T DO SWEET-CHEEKS." His smile did not reach is eyes, and he looked kinda creepy.
I slam down on my buzzer. "Yukon?"
"COOOOOOOOOORRECT!" A golden number 10 pops up above my head.
"Ryan loves spouting random facts. Canada's Provincial and Territorial animals." I mutter to Ruby, as she stares at me questionably.
"NEXT QUESTION: ROSA LAEVIGATA IS TO GEORGIA, AS VIOLA IS TO... WHAT?"
"THAT IS INCORRECT. AND PLEASE USE THE BUZZER PROVIDED!" Again that smile apppears. It scares me even more now.I press my buzzer again. "YES?"
"What does the winner get?" I ask.
"THAT'S NOT THE WORD!"
"But..."
"WHAT'S THE WORD?" Geryon yells again.
"i really don't know-Hawaii, Andes.....what is it! i say turning to maj!
"Uhm... Uhm... Georgia is a State... The Flowers... Hang on" Sun from Kansas, and Pine from Maine.I start humming the rhyme Ryan thaught me. "Illinois! The answer is Illinois!" I yell.

"USE. THE. BUZZER!" You can see the anger growing in Garyon's eyes.
I rolled my eyes and buzzed my buzzer. "Illinois." Geryon turned to me and smiled. "CORRECT!"I shrugged and said, "No prob." Geryon looked like he was going to explode again. He turned away from me, and I could tell he was beginning to really dislike me. I grinned and thought,"Perfect. Just what I need."
Garyon turned to me with hungry eyes. "Well, little lady. You are falling behind! You better step up your answers to win!" he said, encouragingly. "I have a question for you, Mr. Garyon." I say, in the same gamer voice he had. He looked shocked then he glared at me.
"I ask the questions." he snarled.
"Are you ready for your question?!" I say, flashing him a fake smile. Before he could answer, I continued. "Alright. Question 1: How long is this game show of yours going to take? Question 2: What do we have to do to get past you?" I ask in a now serious voice.

"HAHA." Geryon laughs but does not answer. "OK SWEET-CHEEKS, WE'RE GOING TO CONTINUE WITH THE SHOW. PRIME TIME ON T-TV!. TIME FOR QUESTION NUMBER 3! BLUE IS TO ORANGE, AS VIOLET IS TO... WHAT?"
SHE ASKED YOU A QUESTION!!!!! I yelled. Well, actually two, I thought, but kept that to myself.
Geyron looked furious, his eyes livid and alert. "WELL SWEETHART, I AINT GONNA ANSER...THE ONLY THING I WILL SAY TO YOU IS THIS...THIS GAMES GOES ON UNTIL SOMEBODY LOOSES, WHEN SOMEBODY LOOSES, THEY DIE!!!!"
i gulped. mae, maj and ruby all looked stunned. "ummm....is the answer yellow?"

I look up at the golden 10 above my head, then at Ruby's, and then at the empty spaces above Mae and Zaynah. Then to the stagefloor. I take Arnold out of my pocket, making sure Geryon doesn't see him. "Get behind the audience, and then stay." I tell him. "Got it? Hide."
When Arnold's gone I see Zaynah's hand above her buzzer. "Is it... Yellow?"
Geryon raises his eyebrow. "COOOOOOORRECT!"
He looks at Mae. "THIS ONE YOU'VE GOT TO KNOW, SWEET-CHEEKS! QUESTION NUMBER 4: DOVE IS TO LOVE AS OWL IS TO... WHAT?"
"knowledge?" i whisper to maj
"I think so... Buy me some time, I got a plan."
"Okay" i whisper to Maj. Suddenly I scream, A loud blood curdling scream. i point at Geryron. "Geryon...look out. its...its behind you!"
I bite down the smile tugging at my lips. Geryon whirls around stunned
"At your left...no...no...your right...turn around....uuuugh!"
Geryon twirls around left and right. "No, No it's gone! Wait no it's up there running on the hedge...look"
Geryon climbs up on the hedge and follows my finger. i signal at maj to do what she needs to do
I bite down the smile tugging at my lips. Geryon whirls around stunned
