Quoleena Sbrocca (qjsbrocca) Can you please replace Rayne: OuterSphere with the 2nd edition version Rayne: OuterSphere in my series, The Rayne Trilogy? (https://www.goodreads.com/series/1692...) The original is no longer available anywhere. Thanks!

All editions should be combined, and will show on the series page. Goodreads policy is to keep all published editions/covers; please don't remove book data.

Please see #2 & 3 in the thread I'm linking; also, #4 will instruct you on setting the default edition- https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/....

This is a completely different book, rewritten and with a completely different ISBN number. Please do not combine!

Goodreads policy is to combine rewritten books with their originals.

You may wish to set the newest edition as the default, as was suggested above. Here's how: https://www.goodreads.com/help/show/3...

MrsJoseph *grouchy* (mrsjoseph) | 535 comments If it is a different book, why did you not change the title?

If you rewrote it by adding/subtracting, then Cassandra is correct and it needs to be combined.

Quoleena Sbrocca (qjsbrocca) This isn't a matter of a different cover. All the reviews apply to a different storyline. Can you please not combine two books that only share the title as the same? It's a mistake to consider them as merely a different cover edition. Please send it back to how it was. Thank you.

Please see Rivka's comment #4. Also please read the Librarian Manual for further information/insight as to GR policies.

Quoleena Sbrocca (qjsbrocca) None of the reviews apply to this book. It's misleading to have any of those reviews, good and bad, applying to a new book, since nothing is the same. It's unfair to me as the author to force it in this manner.

Then why did you not write a new book with a new title? It appears to be the same book with some editing, which is covered under GR policy. And if it is NOT - they why did you not write a new book with a new title?

Because the book is still part of the same series. I didn't write a new series. I just wrote a different book 2.

Quoleena Sbrocca (qjsbrocca) If it's Goodreads policy, then I'll deal with it. I'm changing the various version descriptions to reflect it.

MrsJoseph *grouchy* (mrsjoseph) | 535 comments I don't understand - and I'm serious - how would you expect a reader to understand that??

If its a new book in the series, then it should have a different title. If you re-wrote book #2, it truly IS the same book...just with additions and/or subtractions. Even if you totally changed what happened inside...you still just sorta re-wrote the same book.

Please do not vandalize the GR records. Please just say "Now updated with more content!" or "Now with 700 more pages!" or "Updated and expanded!"

That's what the best-selling authors I read do. In order that their readers don't feel taken advantage of.

I've already stated that I've accepted the policy and have adjusted my descriptions to reflect this.
