It was quite daunting at first, but the further I got into the book the quicker the pages flew by. I loved the story and the characters!

I'm not that far behind you Zaara, on Chapter 13 right now :) And after finishing Elantris I hope I will make better progress now :) I really like the woldbuilding (not surprising, it's a Sanderson :D ) The POV's are all interesting, but it feels like this is just the beginning and I have to get to know them far better, so far I like them, except (view spoiler)[ Shallan's crazy brother... But after how his chapter started I don't think we are supposed to like him (now)... (hide spoiler)]

Hello, I'm late to the party as I only joined the group today but I'm about 80% of the way through, and loving this book.

I really like the way it's broken up with the interludes. I feel like it ties the main story into a much more massive world, which I hope is explored over the next several thousand pages of this series.

Chapter 36 (view spoiler)[ I'm starting to see a bigger picture and the connection between the different POVs. I especially like Kaladins backstory and the Interludes, the one of Axies was my favourite so far. They feel a little like shortstorys added to discover other parts of the world.
I'm wondering who the sold Truthless is, the merchant in the Rysn Interlude referred to... Szeth? Kaladin?
And how does is Kaladin able to get strengh from the stormlight orbs? I can't wait to find out!

I'm wondering why Kaladin was called Stormblessed in the first chapter... That name would make sense after he survived the storm in chapter 35, but before that? That's very interesting!

I really liked Jasnah's hands-on philosophy, some very good questions there! I was wondering wether she also did it to show Shallan what happens to people (trying to) steal from her... I mean, she was a little suspicious before, wasn't she? If so, it doesn't seem like Shallan get the warning :D Let's see where this will lead... (hide spoiler)]

And I really like the Wit! :) I think after reading Robin Hobb's books I'm quite fond of fools and such alike :D

(view spoiler)[Hoid shows up as a beggar in most series... it's theorized that he uses Feruchemy to store luck, becoming a down-on-his-luck beggar so that he can be where he's needed, when he's needed, at other times in other books...

He was a beggar in some Mistborn books, and he provided Kelsier's crew with info at one point in Final Empire, and showed up in a caravan in the 2nd or 3rd book... and a few times Vin thinks she recognizes someone with white hair... Hoid usually has black or white hair depending on his persona/disguise... he also likes to tell stories... that's what he does in Warbreaker and here... (hide spoiler)]

(view spoiler)[ I think the casual racism and the complete segregation of society within the Vorin kingdoms is almost a plot of its own. It ties in well with the Dalinar and Kaladin threads in that they both see the status quo as wrong and unjust - and that it needs to be changed. There is also an element of "society decays into injustice and cruelty and so therefore horrible reckoning approaches" to it. It would probably be easier to read about some ruthless so-and-so's facing a desolation than if they were lovely benevolent rulers. (hide spoiler)]

Mebbe I was wrong Anni...bcuz I think you reached Ch 28 where Navani says some ppl are able to come close to making an artificial shardplate? So then if there are hundreds of fake/cultured Shardblades and Plates then how can they be United? Mebbe it is uniting the kingdoms, after all. Or the Knights. Also it is said outright in Ch 29 during the Jas-Shalan convo maybe the Parshendi were framed. Which is what I was earlier trending towards, no?
