Lyndol Burns Parrish (dixiebelle72) | 35 comments Looking for any suggestions on historical romances with truly evil villain or villains in it with a paranormal twist. The more evil and deranged the villain the better. No vampires or werewolves though please. When I say a paranormal twist I mean like ghosts, special abilities, demons, etc.... A good example is the “Wherlocke” series by Hannah Howell. As long as there is at least one deranged evil villain and some paranormal in it I will be thrilled. My all time favorite theme is an jealous scheming evil woman trying to steal the hero from the heroine but I honestly think I’ve read every book there is in historical romance with this theme so looking for new books with a slightly different theme. Btw if anyone wants to read a historical romance with a truly deranged woman Salt bride is amazing. Thank you all for any suggestions you might make and have a wonderful day.

Cousin Kate has the deranged evil person--not going to tell you who it is, because that was part of the fun of this book. And sorry, but no PN elements to this, just a good story. But I thought I'd toss it out there, since you took away the suggestion I was going to make (Hannah Howell.

And the Vow series by Catharine Bybee perhaps....
There is also an Iron series.... but I can't remember the author....

Lyndol Burns Parrish (dixiebelle72) | 35 comments So any specific historical romances anyone can think of with a deranged villain and maybe a ghost?

MJ | 1617 comments Oh, Salt Brides was good. Not PRN tho is it?

Try The Haunting of a Duke by Chasity Bowlin

MAYBE, A Lady Out of Time by Caroline Hanson? It might scrape in for what you're looking for.

Crystal | 326 comments Radiance has an evil mother in law. It's set in a historical/old fantasy setting with paranormal creatures.

It starts off with an arranged marriage between the main girl (who is the niece of the human king) and the guy, who is a prince of the paranormal creatures.

One of my all time favourite books! And the mother in law is definitely pretty evil/deranged
