SOLVED. Weird book about people's background, on a bus. [s]

So there isn't much that I do remember, but if you know the book I am talking about, you'll probably be able to answer after these few examples: First the book is a bit older, probably from the 80's or 90's if I had to guess. And it was written by someone like Alex Huxley. It involves a group of people who have never meet on a bus ride to stay in the same place. During the bus ride we are given a background story of each character, starting with the bus driver. He was extremely thin because of an accident that he had when he was younger involving his pool-which he accidentally gets his sister pregnant. Another talks about a wealthy widow.
