Hey gang,
I think I might restructure a little as we gear up to see The Last Jedi. I really want to read Phasma and The Legend of Luke Skywalker before seeing the film after I finish Aftermath. So I think I'll just do some restructuring so I can get those read before the movie launches on December 15th.

And while we're on the subject...who has tickets already?!! I'm so excited to see this film! If you haven't seen the trailer, take a look: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q0CbN...

CAN
NOT
WAIT!!!
Happy reading!
-Lizzie

Khurram (theirongeek) | 21 comments I am reading The Legend Of Luke Skywalker right now, Yes it finally arrived, Phasma was a very pleasant surprise of a book. I thought it was great.

Anthony DeRosa | 12 comments I definitely need to scoop up some of the Road to Last Jedi Books. Phasma is on the list. Got my tickets the night they were available. Can't wait!

Yeah I just felt like it really needed to be read before we all watch The Last Jedi. So that had to get bumped up for sure as well as Phasma!!! Feeling good about that choice!
I'm gonna be going on Thursday, December 14th at the earliest opportunity!! So jazzed for this movie!

Justin (jtefft) I just started Phasma and am enjoying it. Good call on switching up the reading order.

I read Aftermath when it first came out and really struggled with staying excited about it. I haven’t read the other two in the series but thought I’d jump back in after the last Jedi.

Anyone else struggling with Aftermath?

message 6: by [deleted user] (new)

I actually did read it before too and struggled with it, but my 2nd time through is going better and I've heard good things about the other 2 books in the series, so I'm excited to dive into them in the New year!

And yeah, I just felt like Phasma was a must read in the build up to The Last jedi!!!

Khurram (theirongeek) | 21 comments Phasma was very good, I was surprised but in a great way.

Justin (jtefft) Just finished up Phasma and I was surprised at the direction the story went too. Phasma is a much different character than I assumed based on what we saw in TFA (not that we got to see a lot of her there). No spoilers, but this book was a very pleasant surprise. Starting on The Legend of Luke Skywalker shortly.

Can’t wait to get into a more detailed story about Phasma.

Justin (jtefft) Discussion about Phasma, not story. Sorry.

I'm almost done with Aftermath and then I'll be diving in and will get some Phasma discussion threads up!! Love having you all to chat with about Star Wars!!!!

Justin (jtefft) I just finished listening to the Audible audiobook of Aftermath and was very pleased this time around. The story was strong and the performance was fantastic. Marc Thompson, the narrator, is supremely talented. He adds drama and excitement to the story. When I read it a couple of years ago I felt like it was very slow paced and even a bit boring at times. Listening to it over the past couple of days was a completely different experience. I highly recommend Star Wars: Aftermath as an audiobook and am confident Star Wars fans will not be disappointed by the experience.

Justin (jtefft) Guys, I just finished up the Star Wars: Aftermath series and I stand completely corrected. It was a very good series and I really enjoyed it.

Now, I’m finally starting Thrawn and I can’t wait.

Happy to hear that Justin!!! I've only read book one and I'm on Phasma right now, but I am really excited to read the rest of the series!

Also, I don't know if anyone follows Chuck Wendig on Twitter, but he has great discussion going on about Star Wars a lot of the time and he is really fun to interact with!! He often responds to questions about his books and the SW Universe as he sees it. An added level of fun to your Star Wars experience!

Justin (jtefft) Good recommendation. Going to follow him now. Thank you.
