Karis | 220 comments Firstly, thanks so much, Monique, for all your work keeping up with these threads. You're a life saver!

And I finished my book, Through the Tunnel. I do still need to review it, but I was amazed by how many categories it fits! At least a half-a-dozen of them. Grace, it also has a character in it that knits, so if you don't have time to read the bonus book I could count it for that. I am planning on reading more in the next couple of days, so I'm sure I could read and review two books for the challenge.

Yay on finishing your book! It's cool that it can fit more than one task!

I plan to read both of my books, I just don't know how much time I will be able to read, because of work. So if I am unable to read the bonus book, I'll let you know. :) Thanks for the help.

message 108: by Karis (new)

Karis | 220 comments Thanks. I'm planning on typing up a review this afternoon.

And, okay. Thanks! And you're welcome. :)

message 109: by Tiffany (new)

Tiffany Murphy (tiffers919) | 989 comments I should finish my book today.

message 110: by Grace (new)

Grace Morris | 206 comments I just read Miracle Child today, I just need to write up my review.

Since I was able to read that book pretty fast, I should be able to get to read The Amish Doll and review it in time. =) But we'll see how everything works out.

And cool Tiffany! =)

Karis | 220 comments I just posted my review for Through the Tunnel by Rebekah A. Morris for task #10 Playing in the Snow.

Thanks for updating us, Tiffany and Grace. I'm still planning on reading another book before the 23rd, but my brother's wedding is this weekend so I don't know.

Deanne and Jamie haven't said what books they're reading, yet, right?

Yay for posting your review Karis!

Congrats to your brother, Karis! I understand with the possibility of not having enough time to read two books before the 23rd, I should be able to read my bonus book and review it before then.

And no problem with the updates, I'm having a lot of fun doing this challenge. ;)

I saw that Deanne was thinking about what book to do, but I haven't seen a update to which book she is reading. As for Jamie, I haven't see any comments to what book she would like to read yet.

Karis | 220 comments Hey, everyone. I just wanted to let you know that I posted my review for a second book, A Flower Fairies Treasury by Cicely Mary Barker , one that will count for task #18 Jingle Bells. I just did that because none of us have heard from Jamie on what book she's planning on doing.

Monique the Book Geek (moniquethebookgeek) Now that your team is finished with Round 5, you may want to start planning your Round 6 books & tasks. :)

UPDATE: I moved your team's task list to a more recent post.

message 123: by Grace (new)

Grace Morris | 206 comments Thanks Monique! You're just a big help with keeping our team's tasks, books, and points up to date!

I think that I'm going to do the task #11. Yuletide Fire and read the book ANCIENT: Rise of Noah if that's okay with everyone else.

What is everyone else going to read? I don't think that I'm going to be able to read the bonus round task this time, so that's opened to anyone who would like to.

Monique the Book Geek (moniquethebookgeek) It's been my pleasure Grace! :)

Tiffany wrote: "Flaw Abiding Citizen Is this cover red enough?"

Yep! Task #35 is still available.

I think that the cover for Flaw Abiding Citizen looks more orange than red. But that could be because of the edition that Goodreads is showing. So I'm not sure if it would fit the bonus part of that task.

But it might work for task #2 Thanks-giving (November 23) (which is also still opened) if the book has the words “THANKFUL” or “GRATEFUL” in the text.

message 128: by Karis (new)

Karis | 220 comments Thanks for starting on sorting this the books for this round, Grace. I've been really sick the past couple of days and am about to start on a rather busy next few weeks with lambing out in the barn.

So, that to say I'm going to be rather busy. I have a book I'm hoping will have arrived at my library in time for the challenge; it's in transit now, so I have high hopes. It's calledSugar and Ice and would work for task #33 or the bonus task. I don't think I'll have time to do two books this round though.

Also, Jamie didn't even comment ever last round to choose a book. Could someone maybe see if she's up to reading a book this round, so if she doesn't say anything it won't be rushed for someone else to try to fill her place?

No problem Karis. I hope that you will feel better soon! Being sick is no fun.

I just sent Jamie a message, so we will wait and see.

I might use Sugar and Ice for Task #33 and see if someone else has time for the bonus task.

Hey Jamie! =) Thanks for coming back, we all missed you here.

I haven't read The Woman in the Window by A.J. Finn so I wouldn't know which task it would fit. But it might fit task:

#2. Thanks-giving (November 23)
*Read a book using one of the following options:
- “THANKFUL” or “GRATEFUL” is in the text.
- THANKSGIVING in the title.

or task:

#12. Advent/Christmas Cards
*Read a book that has a CALENDAR or CARD on its cover, in its title, or in its text.

message 135: by Grace (new)

Grace Morris | 206 comments Hey Tiffany or Jamie, do either one of you have the time and book to read the bonus round book this round? It needs to have ICE SKATES (on cover or in text).

message 136: by Tiffany (new)

Tiffany Murphy (tiffers919) | 989 comments I should be able to. I’ll be finishing my book tonight or tomorrow. I lucked out and found one of the books I’m supposed to review with a red cover. Maybe I’ll score with the bonus book, too! ☺️

Yay Tiffany! And thanks so much for offering to do the bonus book. =D

message 138: by Tiffany (new)

Tiffany Murphy (tiffers919) | 989 comments Can the word be singular or does it have to be “ice skates”? For instance, does the sentence “after my ceremony, everyone gathered at the nearby frozen lake in the woods to ice-skate...” work? If not, I’ll keep looking.

message 139: by Jamie (new)

Jamie I can do the task with Thankful. I finished the book today

message 140: by Tiffany (new)

Tiffany Murphy (tiffers919) | 989 comments Can it be the word “ice-skating “? I’m not sure im going to be able to finish this book. It’s just entirely too new agey for me.

message 141: by Monique the Book Geek (last edited Jan 30, 2018 11:13AM) (new)

Monique the Book Geek (moniquethebookgeek) The action of ice skating works for task #34, whereas the ice skates you put on your feet are what's needed for the Round 6 bonus. For the Round 6 bonus task, a quote with just the word SKATES is okay as long as it is clear in the quote that the skates are the kind used for skating on ice. :)

message 142: by Tiffany (new)

Tiffany Murphy (tiffers919) | 989 comments “I need you to watch her while I go get my skates”? Handle with Care

Monique the Book Geek (moniquethebookgeek) Tiffany wrote: "“I need you to watch her while I go get my skates”? Handle with Care"

This quote would just need to be lengthened a bit to show that the skates are the kind used to skate on ice, with a page #. :)

BONUS BOOK: Handle with Care by Jodi Picoult - Read by: Tiffany - FINISHED✔️

*Jamie - Since you've finished reading and have rated The Woman in the Window, you now just need to review the book, and post your review post here.

message 147: by Karis (new)

Karis | 220 comments Hey, the book I was planning on reading for task #34 didn't come ins quickly enough, so I read A Dog Named Christmas instead. It will work for task #16, but I was also wondering if it would work for task #19. Monique, can you help me here?

#19. Christmas Party/Gathering
*Read a book that has a gathering of people at Christmas on its cover or mentioned in its text.

There is a gathering of family and friends for Christmas, but it's on the 20th of December not on Christmas day. Did you mean a gathering at Christmas time (obviously to celebrate Christmas) or a gathering on Christmas day itself?

message 148: by Karis (new)

Karis | 220 comments Monique, I don't know if Jamie saw your comment that she needs to write a review; do you think I should PM her a reminder?

message 149: by Monique the Book Geek (last edited Feb 05, 2018 09:41AM) (new)

Monique the Book Geek (moniquethebookgeek) Karis wrote: "Monique, I don't know if Jamie saw your comment that she needs to write a review; do you think I should PM her a reminder?"

I just messaged Jamie about her #2/Round 6 review/post. :)

Keep in mind that Round 6 ends when this clock reads 11:59 pm (PST) on Tuesday, February 6th (tomorrow), so review posts need to be completed by this day/time to count for this round.

Monique the Book Geek (moniquethebookgeek) Karis wrote: "Hey, the book I was planning on reading for task #34 didn't come ins quickly enough, so I read A Dog Named Christmas instead..."

I would say that a Christmas gathering will work for task #19 even if it isn't on Christmas day, as long as it's around the time of Christmas and it's obvious that Christmas is being celebrated at the gathering. :)
