Also very much waiting for the Water Outlaws and also for Alecto the Ninth! Both have expected publication in 2023.
Mark Lawrence has a new one out in May as well. The Book That Wouldn’t Burn or something like that. Looking forwards to that.

Thanks for sharing the sneak peek! I'll probably hold out on it until the release or right before, to keep it fresh.
Some 2023 releases I'm looking forward to:Prince and Pawn - I liked the first two in this fantasy romance series. They were a light and fun pick-me-up.
Rose/House - still have been meaning to read Arkady Martine! Maybe a novella will help me get a taste before Teixcalaan
The Mimicking of Known Successes by Malka Ann Older
Untethered Sky - ever since Marahute in the Rescuers Down Under, I can't resist giant birds of prey
Some Desperate Glory by Emily Tesh
Witch King by Martha Wells
Thornhedge by T. Kingfisher
Dark Rise #2 by C.S. Pacat
System Collapse (Murderbot #7) by Martha Wells
Among those, Witch King and System Collapse are high on my gimme list, as well as Alecto the Ninth, though I'll have to read Nona first.
Can't wait for Alecto! Did a BR series read leading up to Nona in another group, and already can't wait for all the chaos and memes and screaming in the threads. *dips candles to prepare for my Alecto Advent wreath*
Rachel Neumeier has two books in the Tuyo series coming out this year 😁 "Tano" in March and "Tasmakat" in July. There are no links for the books yet on goodreads. And that reminds me! @Ryan, did you ever read Suelen yet?
Systems Collapse has a cover now! Woo!
Other than that, looking forward to:
A Day of Fallen Night (Feb 28)
The Adventures of Amina al-Sirafi (Feb 28)
Old Babes in the Wood: Stories (March 07)
Assassin of Reality (March 14)
Some Desperate Glory (April 11)
Untethered Sky (April 11)
A Sleight of Shadows (I was waiting for that sequel forever!) (April 25)
Witch King (May 30)
Alecto the Ninth (Goodreads can't decide, if it comes in 2023 or 2024, though)

"Woohoo, lovely. If that's Murderbot on the cover, he/she almost looks human.
Did we know that there will be a fourth book in the Annihilation series?!Absolution
(I know it’s old news but if I knew about it I’d forgotten, so it was news again 😅)
I recently saw Briardark available for a giveaway, and the story sounds hauntingly intriguing! I can't wait to get my hands on a copy! Looks like my library system isn't ordering it, so I'll be buying a copy on Amazon.
From a tor.com publishing email today: tor.com will be republishing six of Martha Wells' earlier novels, starting with a revised edition of City of Bones.https://www.tor.com/2023/01/10/book-a...
I'm very slightly sore we didn't see a sequel to personal favorite CoB due to Tor dropping Wells--this was in the late '90s or early '00s, quite some time before tor.com, distinct from Tor, became a book publisher. But if Wells isn't complaining, it would be pretty ungracious for me to. I hope these reissues send loads of money to her coffers. :) CoB will be in trade paper and ebook.
Another from that tor.com email that I am excited about is Mammoths at the Gate, the newest from Nghi Vo's Singing Hills novella series.

The cover of that one is gorgeous, just like all the others in that series. I've only read the first of them, and gave it 5 stars, so I'm not sure what I'm waiting for.

Wait, what? I completely missed it. But then again, I wouldn't know to look for the news about book 4 in a series called Southern Reach Trilogy 😅
Pod by Laline Paull was just put on my radar as it ended up on the Women's Prize for Fiction Longlist this year. Looks like it's been out in the UK for about a year now - but just released in the US in February.
I've never read the author's other book that has come up here from time to time, The Bees, but I'm tempted by the idea of a story told from a Dolphin's point of view.

The comic (manhua) version of Grandmaster of Demonic Cultivation is out and I want it.

I'm looking forward to Bookshops & Bonedust (expected November 7th). It's a prequel to Legends & Lattes.
Just saw the next Teacup Magic #5 Have Spirit, Will Duchess is coming in June. Tansy Rayner Roberts may have already released this to her Patreon backers, but I am a plebeian who waits for the regular release.

Tansy Rayner Roberts has also announced an upcoming Kickstarter campaign for a book called "The Time of the Cat," which she describes as featuring "cozy time travel and cranky cats," so I am all in for that.
The kickstarter is not live yet, but is coming next month (I think) and you can sign up for a notification when it starts: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/...
(It also looks like her previous kickstarters were eventually widely available).
The Shadow Cabinet (HMRC #2)The Mystery at Dunvegan Castle (Edinburgh Nights #3)
Two Twisted Crowns (The Shepherd King #2)
The Atlas Complex (Atlas #3)
Chaos Terminal, by Mur Lafferty. Sequel to Station Eternity which was a really excellent sci-fi mystery with lots of interesting alien species. So, I hope this has more of that. Expected Nov 7.
Meredith wrote: "Chaos Terminal, by Mur Lafferty. Sequel to Station Eternity which was a really excellent sci-fi mystery with lots of interesting alien species. ..."Yes! It's the only book that I currently have on preorder. Perhaps we can set up a BR for it when it comes out.
Raucous wrote: "Meredith wrote: "Chaos Terminal, by Mur Lafferty. Sequel to Station Eternity which was a really excellent sci-fi mystery with lots of interesting alien species. ..."..."I would be into that! Station Eternity was a such a well constructed mystery set in a very detailed sci fi world.
The Book that Wouldn’t Burn by Mark Lawrence just dropped into my Audible queue. I’ve never read anything by him, but this book intrigued me, so I preordered it. Also, Cherie Dimaline did a retelling of The Secret Garden called “In the Bright Open” which comes out in September that I also preordered.
