Question 1: What is your "Too _____"?

Anne Helen Petersen says that women are often labeled as too much SOMETHING to keep them in line. And once you’re too much...we’ll, then you’re just plain unruly! 😡 Each of her chapters is titled like that. There’s “Too Old” (Madonna), “Too Slutty” (Nicki Menaj), “Too Fat” (Melissa McCarthy), “Too Shrill” (Hillary Clinton), and even more.

So here’s the question to all you unruly women out there: what are you labeled “too much” of? Too opinionated? Too brash? Too caring? Too political? Tell us here!

I’ll kick us off. I’ve been thinking about this, and I think I’m “too much” of a lot of stuff. But I’m going to go with Too Competitive! I want to be the best at everything, and I won’t delicately concede second place. I’ve always been the kind of girl who won’t take “but you can’t play with the boys” for an answer. I think women can be just as good as men in every arena, and if that makes me unruly...well that’s just too bad! —M
