Pretty smart using the animals to get the necessities to those that had been taken captive so that they could attack the enemy from both the outside and within the very camp itself. Nice :| (hide spoiler)]

Finished! (view spoiler)[Pretty great ending honestly, I actually kinda love how easily Blayce was dispatched with honestly, kinda reminiscent of Voldemort’s final death (in the books :P) with him essentially just being mortal after all and dying just as easily as one.

Glad that Kel left those bastards to the stormwings too :|

But I still have one major gripe: CLEON. AND KEL. HOW DARE YOU.

Ch. 12 (view spoiler)[ I'm so sad!! Haven has been sacked! I knew as soon as Toby showed up in Mastiff that the camp was gone. Blayce has somehow taken the refugees and the soldiers from Scamron killed the other soldiers, at least Merrick is still alive. I don't know why Neal and the other knights think they'll be able to convince Kell to stop what she's doing. I'm so glad Raoul sent Dom's squad after her and that Owen & Toby are going for her as well. Kell better not die. (hide spoiler)]

I've just finished buddy reading the Protector of the Small series and I absolutely adored it! I was speaking with the friend who buddy read it with me and we were talking about how we were really excited to have Kel, Neal and many others from that series cameo in the remaining books, as many of the characters from the first two Tortall series did in this.

Unfortunately, another friend came and dashed our hopes that we wouldn't get even a cameo of Neal's daughter becoming a knight like Kel, with Neal looking on in worry and Kel and Dom pretty much getting popcorn and waiting for the fireworks.

Is there ANY chance of future novellas or one-shots based in the Tortall universe? We really would love to be able to read one on Neal's reaction to his daughter becoming a knight.

Me either, I'm so excited for more Tamora Pierce books. I can't believe I waited so long to read these ;u; I know I read at least some when I was a kid (pretty sure I read the trickster's duo) but I remember being really irritated that the library didn't have all of them ._.
