Ximena Elias | 3 comments SPOILERS AHEAD. I got this book at a yard sale and lost it weeks after I finished. It was about a single dad who returns to where he used to spend his summers when he was a kid and reconnects with a woman from those years. She is a painter or s bird watcher and loves painting birds (something like that). The man’s daughter goes to her house (everyone in town thought she was some sort of witch) and gets to know her forcing her father to reconnect. The man and this woman fall I love, they go for swims to the beach late at night. He he’s sent away for work to a Nordic country. The little girl makes journals with the flora and fauna of the place.... it’s as much as I can remember. Help please!

Ximena, around what year did you find this book?

Can you tell us more about the hero - divorced or widowed (how did his wife die), his job, skills/interests, personality, etc.?

Locations of their home and summer spot - countries, regions, lake/beach/forest/mountains?

Contemporary or historical romance?

Are they paranormal/fantasy elements such as in Charmed (1992) by Nora Roberts?

Google search - site:www.goodreads.com "contemporary romance" single father daughter returns summer witch

Ximena Elias | 3 comments It was based in th U.S. The father and daughter go to this beach from the city (I don’t remember the city) but they go here to move away from the pain of the accident. It was definitely a contemporary romance (well, 90s contemporary I’d say). I think the wife was involved in some sort of car accident. The man and daughter (who was between 10-13 years old) arrive to this beach by train. At this beach area they used to project movies publicly and people would go and sit there on blankets. I remember the author was female. The woman was a loner, I don’t remember exactly if she was a widower as well.
