Don Quixote
question
don quixote's library

are the list of books in don quixote library real or imaginary ?
when i search for a list, i get results that include libraries that host don quixote, including the library of congress. no no. in the book by miguel de cervantes, chapter 6, the narrative where the intruders are engaging in the act of tomecide, the author delineates a list of items in don's library. is there a card catalog of these books, are they real, and what are they ? is there other mention of titles outside of the tomecide episode

The way titles are thrown about in the Don Quixote book, I would guess they were tiltes of real books, but they may no longer exist or be just a few copies left in the hands of rich collectors.
Apart from a few famous authors, most books of those times vanished without trace.

you can find these books some may still be able to be found not a lot though that is a different story.
you can check your local indepentant book store or the RARE bookstore which sells these types.
this is historical fiction too so it may mess with you making you think a fake book actually exists.
it has happened to me try looking through library of congress or your indepenant bookstore.
