I happened to just buy The Tower, The Zoo, and The Tortoise last week, and it takes place in London so I could also use it for the fascinating country category.

I'll be reading a feast for crows by George R.R. Martin. I've only read the first book, but I've managed to fit in most of his other books in the prompts!
If anyone is looking for children's' books, I would highly recommend Odd Duck and When Elephant met Giraffe

I loved Ella Minnow Pea.
Katherine wrote: "The Wasp Factory"One of my favourite books. Can't go wrong with this one.
Personally I think I'll go with Que font les rennes après Noël ?. I need to shape up my game and read more French.
I'm torn between To Kill a Mockingbird, because I've never read it and it seems to top a lot of Must Read lists, but I also have The Bees by L. Paull which looks amazing!
Tori wrote: "I'm torn between To Kill a Mockingbird, because I've never read it and it seems to top a lot of Must Read lists, but I also have The Bees by L. Paull which looks amazing!"The Bees would be a good choice for the allegory category so you could do both.
Some books I was thinking of:Lily and the Octopus
The Red Pony
Dogs at the Perimeter
The Dog
History of Wolves
Beartown
All the Birds in the Sky
There’s a couple of books by Tom Clancy with animals in the title - Red Rabbit, The Bear and The Dragon, The Teeth of the Tiger.
Some more ideas:The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle
Birds of a Lesser Paradise: Stories
Boy, Snow, Bird
The Bird's Nest
Turtle in Paradise
Bobcat and Other Stories
The Trouble with Goats and Sheep
I'm seeing a lot of insects on this list.. so I'm assuming if there is an insect in the title.. we can use that as well.I'd like to use Firefly Lane by Kristin Hannah for this prompt. Although, there are so many choices! I'm doing a buddy read, though starting on the 1st of the year.. so I think I'm going to use it for this prompt.

This is officially my first finished prompt for 2018! Hoping to do a better job tackling the list this year! The Dog Lover Unit: Lessons in Courage from the World's K9 Cops
It was a good read! She followed canine teams from around the world which I appreciate as an added element of diversity and perspective!
I'm going to re-read To Kill a Mockingbird. I read this originally in an American Lit class in high school, and I don't remember liking it. But that could have to do with it being required reading.
I'll be reading Cockroaches by Jo NesboIt also counts as nordic noir and next book in a series (its the second one)
An older one: Pigs in Heaven by Barbara KingsolverRead The Bean Trees by Barbara Kingsolver first for a book with a fruit or vegetable in the title
I'll be reading Big Fish, Bear: The Life and Times of Augustus Owsley Stanley III, or Water for Elephants.
Amanda wrote: "The Butterfly Garden
"I’ve heard such good things about The Butterfly Garden and the ebook is on sale for $1.99! This book is high on my list for this category.
I'm going with Explaining Death To The Dog.But I can recommend Even the Dogs, and The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time. I swear it wasn't a conscious thing to have so many dog titled books on my shelves. I also have Swansong and Hens Dancing on my TBR shelves.
Mo wrote: "I'll be reading Big Fish, Bear: The Life and Times of Augustus Owsley Stanley III, or Water for Elephants."Water for Elephants is one of my favorite books. I haven't seen the movie, because I'm afraid I'll be disappointed.

Wise decision. The movie wasn't terrible but they definitely didn't do the book justice.

Brooke wrote: "If I don't read Lamb: The Gospel According to Biff, Christ's Childhood Pal before year end, I'll probably read it for this prompt."Love, love, LOVE this book! His other books The Lust Lizard of Melancholy Cove, Coyote Blue and Fluke: Or, I Know Why the Winged Whale Sings would also work here.
Bridgette wrote: "Amanda wrote: "The Butterfly Garden

I'm really glad to hear that as I'm going with this one as well! And found a copy at the local used bookstore for $2.50! :)
I read The Raven by Poe for this. I know, it's a poem and not a "book" but it's something I always wanted to read
Recommendations from my read shelf:Of Mice and Men
The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time
Wolf Hall
A Lion Among Men (part of a series but can be read as a stand alone)
A Feast for Crows (definitely read as part of the series)
The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's Nest (ditto above)
The Lily and The Lion (ditto again)
Voice of the Eagle
A Street Cat Named Bob: How One Man and His Cat Found Hope on the Streets
Wolves
If I read 100 books this year, 50 of them will probably fit in this category, but this is the first one I read: Two Good DogsOr, if you like knocking off multiple categories with one book, this is my book for the sports category: Wallace: The Underdog Who Conquered a Sport, Saved a Marriage, and Championed Pit Bulls-- One Flying Disc at a Time
Here is one I haven't seen listed that's an interesting read:American Buffalo: In Search of a Lost Icon
It's part history of the Buffalo in America dating back to before European contact through the post Civil War market hunts and beyond, and then part of it is an account of the author's experience on a Buffalo hunt himself up in Alaska.
