I think I'm going to pause this book for now and read something else, because all of the books on my shelf are calling to me. So I'll just keep up with you. No clue where you're up to now, so when you see this can you please let me know? I'll read at your pace.

Honestly i haven't read much more as I went to visit family last weekend and forgot to take my book and i started my new job this week. I'm happy to pause and start again when you do though if that's better for you?

Nope keep it going XD If I pause a book like this I won't remember anything. So even if you do just read a few pages a week, that's fine with me XD I'm free from other BRs now so I can take my time :) Just please don't leave me or I'll have no motivation XD

I've read a bit but I'll update with my thoughts after work tomorrow! will definitely be going through this quite slowly for the next few days. :)

Any idea what chapter? Because I have a lot of time after class today that I can use to catch up, but I don't have much time tomorrow because I have 4hrs of class and 5hrs of work.

didn't quite realise how much I'd read today, I'm on chapter 75. so there will be a fairly big update tomorrow!

Oh jeez. And my GoT buddy read like 10%, which is 80 pages.

You must be more than halfway through the book now?

GoT goes by faster than you anticipate!

according to GR I'm exactly 50% through my copy but I'm pretty sure I'm more than halfway through. A lot has happened in it though and it's definitely picked up the pace.

I've read it before though and I've watched the show so I know what happens. I might just drop these 2 :/ My buddies are too far ahead and I get too stressed and disappointed trying to keep up

I'm only 25% in :/

Maybe I'll just read 3 chapters a day of both this and Game of Thrones so that I'm actually reading them still, and then my leftover time I'll spend on Inkheart.

It's up to you but like I said I don't mind pausing until you catch up so its less stressful?

I think I'm going to stick with my 3 chapters a day and aim for end of the month finished. I'm on Chapter 39 now and there's 150 chapters, so I have another 111 to go, which is 37 days so nope not 3 chapters a day XD I just don't know, all I do know is that I want to finish this month. Maybe after I finish Inkheart too I'll just focus on this. Who knows

Just went to the local Gardens and sat outside under a tree and read for a while. Now up to Chapter 46. (view spoiler)[I once again got confused when he was explaining how his project worked, but maybe that's just because I'm not very sciency.

Chapter 52 (view spoiler)[I cannot believe that we didn't get to hear of the Trial! I was seriously anticipating some good comebacks and smart conversation!

I am extremely interested to see the use that he'll be put to by his new patron. So pleased Threpe found one! It'll probably be a sex thing or something.

And of course he'd get robbed. Not even surprised. It actually annoyed me a bit. Bleh. And then the fact that he lost his gram (which took him sooo long to make) and his cloak and yet still goes ahead to say that none of it was important enough to describe?

Chapter 75 (view spoiler)[ After the fight with Denna, I really dislike her and think that Kvothe is an idiot for fretting so much over sending her a letter to explain where he has gone when she has left without a word so many times. I hope he is wrong when he thinks that the Maer is sending him on a fruitless journey because he is done with his services, and that there is an actual reason for the trip. (hide spoiler)]

No idea where you're up to XD I'm having a really hard time with this one. I want to just put it down and read something else again, but I also just want to slog through and get this bloody thing done so I can read the novella. I really want to read from Auri's POV! And it's actually a quickie!

It's so frustrating because at the start of this book I adored it. But now it's just dragging like the last one, and I'm afraid it'll lower my rating just like the last one. Maybe I'm just not cut out for long books like this (I say after just buying a bunch of fantasy...)

I'm LOVING this book! It makes me like the first book even more!

(view spoiler)[ Chapter 11- I LOVED it when Kvothe wouldn’t take any amount of money from Devi to trade secrets into the archives that could hurt Auri. I think I like him even more in this book!

Chapter 18- I liked Denna (and I didn't care for her in the last book) more in the beginning of this book, until this chapter. I don’t like that she was asking them about what they were learning at the university. Now I think she’s up to something and will end up betraying Kvothe (maybe not on purpose, but I don’t trust her again…) And her questions about if he’s ever heard of a magic that comes true when someone writes something down?? That was weird and I feel like it will be important later. Is she trying to learn magic herself?

Chapter 20- Seriously? He broke into Ambrose’s room to impress Denna? Sigh..And why is she with Ambrose?

I'm kind of glad Kvothe is taking a break from University. I think a new setting is needed, and I didn't know where else his University story would go. It felt a little repetitive...he would not have money, borrow from Devi, do something stupid with his new money and lose all his money, then make it back with either luck or music, pay back Devi, then repeat...So I'm very excited for this change.

I LOVED that Denna got Kvothe a new lute case!! OH MY!! So sweet!

(view spoiler)[ I really enjoyed this last section with the poisoning and the rings. I'm glad the Maer is okay and that they figured out the poisoning in time!

Things that stuck out to me in this middle part:

-Kvothe’s fight with Denna about how she heard a different story. Whoa…so many emotions!
-There are moon references all over the place in this book.
-I didn’t care for the part where Maer sent them out on a mission to find the bandits. This part was VERY boring and slow. It was 70 pages too long.
-Felurian’s part seemed a little out of place and also a bit long. If the roles were reversed where the man seduced a woman and used fairy powers to have sex with her, people would have been WAY more upset about this.
-I’m very intrigued by Tempi…I love him!

I'm still liking this book, and I feel like everything I'm reading will have an important part and purpose, but some of the sections are just soooo long...

(view spoiler)[ I loved the ending of this book! I loved Kvothe's time in Ademre. And the scene where he saved the two girls from the fake Edema Ruh was so hard to read. :( It was so well done though.

I have so many theories on what's in Kvothe's box and why/how he lost his magic. I know this book was longer than the first book, and we didn't span as many years in this book, but for some reason, I really enjoyed this book even more than the first!! (hide spoiler)]
