Is there a way that I can copy one of the spreadsheets that you guys provided? I downloaded the google docs app but have not figured out how to get the spreadsheets on to it. Those spreadsheets are amazing so I would love to be able to use one. Thanks!
I am a Google Docs neophyte, but I THINK you can open the sheet and then save it to your "drive" (under the File menu)

I made a copy of your spreadsheet but when I took out the writing where you had put how to make a copy, I got a big box and I can't figure out how to put the rows back in it. I'm spreadsheet impaired.
guys, I decided to make a copy of my own spread but I took the contents that were already there thanks so much
I've done up a spreadsheet, as well. It's open to edit or view. You can copy or share it:https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/...

Thanks Elizabeth!
I know everyone's style is different, so thought I'd share my spreadsheet too.I have a column for 'Planning to Read' which I find really helpful as I sort books into the topics, then the other column is 'Already Read' which I use to track my progress.
And I added a 'COUNTA' function so it will automatically total how many books you've read as long as you've typed in the title.

So mine's fairly basic, and not completely filled in yet, but here it is:https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/...
Just wondering is anyone having trouble finding a book set in the year they were born? I was born in 1989 and cannot for the life of me find any book set then... What do I do? Help!!!

it's set in the DECADE you were born, so any book set in the 80s will work!

Feel free to make a copy if you want to. It has 9 tabs, And to think it started out with just Sara's and then grew.
Books read, PopSugar, PS suggestions, Book Riot's, BR suggestions, 52 in 52, 52 Suggestions, A to Z, States.
In PopSugar, Book Riot's, and 52 in 52 there is a counter to let you know how many you have completed. Its tied to the finished column.
In Books read there are 2 counters. 1 for books read which is tied to titles, and 1 for challenges which is tied to challenge. If its not a book for a challenge leave it blank.
I did this tab beacuse I want to see how many books i end up reading. Since i'm doing more then 1 challenge I will use a book in every challenge it fits. (but only once per challenge.)

You should also change the font size to whatever you prefer before you unmerge the cells, otherwise the font will still be 18 or whatever the box had set.
I never learned to spreadsheet or any of that. (When I was in school, they were teaching Turtle. It made straight lines. In green.) I started using some of the 2017 sheet from this guy late last year to track my spending and savings mostly. He made some nice improvements for this year. There is a TON of info you can input. It's not for the challenge, but if you know stuff you could probably add a tab for challenge. I guess? In any case, I thought some of you might like it. The link is in the description.

Edit: OH and you can track series, there are lots of charts and a map!

I used his last year. This year I modeled my spreadsheet after it but took out the columns I didn't need. I loved the summary tab and the series tracking!
I am pretty sure you can edit your own copy of his to take out columns and stuff, I just don't know how and haven't had time to sit down and figure it out.
Like Megan, I used Brock's spreadsheet last year and the year before as well (he didn't call them the Spreadsheets of Doom!!). He was late with posting this year's, so I fixed up last year's to work for this year's. And yes - the info in some of the columns doesn't interest me, so I hide them.

Thank you, this is so helpful! Now I have a way to keep track of where I'm at in the challenge and how much is left to go (a lot at this point!).
Mine's here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/...This covers 5 or 6 people doing three challenges. Once read, books get entered into the "Book Log" tab, then selected in the Challenge tabs.

Thank you so much! Filling in my own data now--so far we have one the same ;-)
I thought I had copied someone's spreadsheet, but now I can't find it in my google docs. If I accidentally created edits in your document, I'm really, really sorry!! I did save the file to my desktop, but I don't know what happened...

Omg This is so awesome!
I do mine as a bingo sheet in my Bullet Journal. Heres a link to the printable i made. https://drive.google.com/open?id=1NFJ...
That looks fun! Do you randomly choose each square like real bingo? Do you give yourself a prize each time you get "bingo"? Did you read "alliteration" first so you could make it 49 squares?
I used to be a voracious reader but have been distracted by other hobbies for the past few years. This is my first time ever to try a reading challenge. I've started late (in May) but I'm super excited anyway.
Thanks to everybody for sharing their brilliant ideas for tracking their challenge progress.

Thanks so much for sharing your multi-tab Excel file @Kasey. <3
I've spent so much time fiddling around with this spreadsheet (mostly deciding on books to read) that I might have been able to read a couple of books in that time, lol!

Hi Vernice, I love your spreadsheets! I'm trying to use it with a few edits, do you have any tips for the 'Monthly Summary' section (Ie number of books read each month, and pages read each month) on how to used a formula to work this out? I'm really struggling with getting them to work.
Has anyone made a matrix with challenge prompts on one axis and book titles on the other? I would like to be able to track all the different prompts a book could fill, because I move them around a lot, and this way I can just colourcode the boxes. Or maybe someone has other ways of doing this? I am not really interested in all the other details, like when I read it, release date etc. - I have those on GR. This is for next year, but I thought this would suit me better.

yes that's what I do, and then I run through and check all the categories each book could fill. I find it interesting at the end of the year to see which categories I checked over and over again, and which I only read ONE book for.
I track a few other stats that I find interesting, too.
I do all my spreadsheets in Excel though. My computer does not play nicely with Google Sheets, so I rarely use that, so ... I can't share.

Ooh that's a really good idea Johanne. I might do it myself but I'll wait to see if someone else has done it first.
