Two authors with the same name

My name is Jane Jago. However if people search for me on Goodreads they can only find another author of that name. Is there any way to fix this?

Goodreads disambiguates same-name authors by adding a space between their first and last names: Separating authors with the same name

Your profile is Jane^^Jago, where ^ represents a space. This is where your books are shown.

I just did both a general and an author search for "Jane Jago," and the results included your books. Clicking on the author name displays the author profile associated with that book.

I was unable to duplicate your search that returned only the other Jane Jago profile. If the search function is not working properly, please post a bug report in the Feedback Group, which is where site functionality issues are discussed.

So. In order to find me people have to add an extra space between Jane and Jago. Not a lot of help for anyone who doesn’t know the formula. But if that’s how Goodreads works I suppose I just have to accept the inevitable and field the complaints. Thank you for your time

No. The only place the extra space shows up in on your profile edit page and your books' edit pages. As Dobby0390 said, searching for Jane Jago (with no extra space) brings up your books as well as the other author's: https://www.goodreads.com/search?q=Ja...

#4. Well I just tried it and it didn’t.
#5. Nope. The only book poaching that happens is the other way about. There is one book on the other author’s dormant account. And there are twelve and counting on mine. And I do sell the odd one here and there.

#4 tried again and now a search in search books works. Curiouser and curiouser

And in the "add book/author" function here in the Groups and when adding a quote the additional space is also needed.

Jane, no one is "poaching" anything. There are two authors with the same name, which happens. (Actually, we have some names with 5 or 10 or even 20 distinct people with the same name!) If your books are all on your profile, there is very little Goodreads Librarians can do to help. If any of your books land on the wrong profile, that we can certainly help with.

Thanks Arenda, add book/author is one place where it deffo wasn’t working. And it’s one place where people tell me they can’t add my books when posting. I can at least now tell them what to do

#9 Thanks and accepted. But there was a bit of jiggery pokery, though not on Goodreads. Still left a nasty taste though. Not blaming librarians at all
