I was trying everything and I couldn’t get on the website. I closed the goodreads page. Just wouldn’t redirect to website. When I deleted the app.it worked. Thankyou for your help. 😘

Tessa | 1761 comments Honest truth? I just look at the little bell icon to see if I have notifications. It's less annoying than constant notifications pinging on my phone. But email works too.

message 53: by Melinda (new)

Melinda Ruyten | 1027 comments So does that mean you log into the website each time to see if there are comments. I think I might keep the app on my phone, for notifications and then I will log onto the iPad if I need to make comment. Thanks for your help. Today it's going to be 99 f a hot one.

Kooloo | 596 comments Gahhhh crazy hot
And yes that’s exactly what I do = App on my phone and website you have to log into on my iPad 🤓

Melinda Ruyten | 1027 comments Thanks girls. It's all working now since I deleted the app. 😁❤️

Melinda Ruyten | 1027 comments HELP, HELP, EVERY BOOK IS UPDATING ON FACEBOOK.

How has it just started to do this all by itself.

How do I stop it!!!

message 57: by Paula (new)

Paula White | 800 comments There is a little tick box for FB update - have you ticked that by accident?

message 58: by Melinda (new)

Melinda Ruyten | 1027 comments It is automatically ticking everything and I have to untick it all.

How do I make goodreads automatically tick the fb update. 🙊

message 59: by Paula (new)

Paula White | 800 comments Once I unticked it it stayed that way for me - I had the same happen to me when I was sorting out my bookshelves, now it is always unticked

There might be help for me yet. I might have a look at settings.

Nay (4ukcats) I think GR has a mind of its own a lot of the time. I CONSTANTLY tell it I don't want to receive emails, and it'll just start sending them to me for various threads.

What bugs me more than anything is when I go in to do some reviews I forgot and I tell it not to post on my update thread and it does it anyway.

message 62: by Tessa (new)

Tessa | 1761 comments Go to your account settings, under your account button and go to apps. There, it has a spot that says "publish". Unclick every one of those boxes and click save settings. It'll stop posting things on Facebook right away.

message 63: by Melinda (new)

Melinda Ruyten | 1027 comments Thankyou so much Tessa. I went through and deleted all the settings then checked on an update and it still went to post on fb.😬

message 64: by Tessa (new)

Tessa | 1761 comments Grrrrr! Contact GR because that shouldn't be happening once you get rid of all those clicks. I unclicked it when I first started posting stuff here, since it drove me crazy.

message 65: by Lisa (new)

Lisa Aiello (lisaaiello) | 2460 comments That's just frustrating - I certainly don't need the entire Facebook world seeing all the dark and smutty things I like to read!!!

message 66: by Melinda (new)

Melinda Ruyten | 1027 comments I've been trying to fix it. On the kindle it says to disable the fb settings. I've done that and it's not working it's still ticking the link to fb automatically.

message 67: by Ela (new)

Ela | 4291 comments WHY IS EVERYTHING SHOWING UP AS READ 2 TIMES ON GR....AGAIN! AND IT WON'T LET YOU DELETE ONE OF THE READ DATES!

message 68: by Leslie (new)

Leslie | 2430 comments Ela, I have been freaking out over this!!!!

message 69: by Nay (new)

Nay (4ukcats) I've been noticing that too. I've been seeing some people with read 3 and 4 times.

I've been having that extra read date show up on about half of my reviews, and I always x it out. I just tried to do it on two of my books and it worked on one of them, but I can't get it to work on the other. Urgh! Frustrating!

message 70: by Nay (last edited Apr 13, 2018 06:52AM) (new)

Nay (4ukcats) I just got rid of two of them, but I had to go into the review, x out the blank date, save the review, and then it was still there, so I went back in and did it again. For both, it worked the 2nd time.

Sorry if they all show up on your update feeds. I unchecked the 'add to update feed' box, but that never seems to work for me.

message 71: by Leslie (new)

Leslie | 2430 comments Nay, are doing this on a pc, tablet, phone or what? No matter what I do it doesn't seem to work on my phone. I thought maybe it would work if I tried it on a PC.

I did it on my laptop.

message 73: by Leslie (new)

Leslie | 2430 comments Ok, I am going to have to try it using laptop and see if that works. I basically only use my phone and I know sometimes not all functions work on a mobile device (despite being on non-mobile site). Grrrrrr

message 74: by Leslie (new)

Leslie | 2430 comments This is obviously a glitch in Goodreads because I am not marking anything as read twice. It's driving me crazy.
