image: "<"img src="https://www.goodreads.com/image..." width="40" height="100" alt="description"/">" (Width must be 0-400, Height must be 0-1000, alt is a description of the image. All three are optional, but recommended.)

I just did this with gifs and used what Fabi posted to adjust the size. I had to play with it a few times to keep it in the right ratio though.

If you go into your account settings (like where you'd change the photo for your avatar), you can go across the top and click on "book links".
First, you'll see:
Kindle eBook Button
Show or hide the buy button if a Kindle edition exists for a book.
Kindle eBook Button -- hide (if this button reads 'show' instead of 'hide', you can click on it and any time you're on a book page and looking at the kindle version, the kindle price of that book on Amazon will be shown here--It will also show if it's available for free with KU, which I LOVE because I know right away if it's a KU book without having to check Amazon--if it reads 'hide', you're already seeing the prices--you just have to make sure you're viewing the kindle edition of the book to see the prices.)
From this page, you can also manipulate which book links (places where you can get a copy of the book) you see in the 'Get a Copy' section on each book page and also the order they're shown in. That way, if you buy a lot of books at Barnes and Noble, for instance, you can have a link to that shown.
**You can also get to this page if you click on the 'stores' button under 'Get a Copy' and then click on 'customize order'.

There are a lot of books loaded there which can be read for free. I don't mention it often because I feel bad for the authors. But right at the top of the list is Maybe In Another Life by Taylor Jenkins Reid.......

that part only seems to work if you go into your browser... not if you're using the app on your phone though. learned that the hard way... 🙃

HOW TO POST A GIF ON GR:
There are a couple ways to do it. Most people use PHOTOBUCKET.
* make a photobucket account.
* Search for your photo.
* Click on it
* Click on HTML code.
* Now back at your post. Paste it.
* easy as that
You can practice here.

Second way to do it.
* find a gif (most likely on tumblr).
* right click it and copy -> "copy image url"
* use code (found above the box under (some html is ok) <*img src="http://www.goodreads.com/image..." width="40" height="100" alt="description"/*>
I used * in the example HTML but don't use it when you make your gif otherwise it won't work. I had to do it that way to make it show in this thread.
I also take the width and height numbers. Then it will automatically set the gif width and height for you. But if you want you can play with those numbers to make it the size you want.
Example:
<*img src="http://www.reactiongifs.com/wp-conten..." width="" height="" alt="description"/*>
Practice making gifs in this thread. :)

I used * in the example spoiler below but don't use it when you make your spoiler otherwise it won't work. I had to do it that way to make it show in this thread.
Example:
<*spoiler> I love Goodreads! <*/spoiler>

(by Amy Fox)
*click on 'MyBooks' (top of your goodreads page)
* scroll on the left side if the page until you get to 'Find Duplicates' (under tools)
* click on 'Find Duplicates'
If you have any duplicates it will list them there. Check both duplicate copies before you delete one to make sure you don't delete your "review".

To figure out how to add the person who recommended the book to you:
*go to the book page of the book recommended to you
* click on "want to read" under the book cover
* then hit refresh on the book page
* it should show that you have a 'review' now
* click on 'edit' review
* on the bottom of your review there is "more options" click on it
*there will be an option to put in the name of the person who recommended the book to you.
I know it looks like a lot of instructions but it's really easy and fast.

Lisa's Pick For Me List
Rather than:

I know there is a way - and I did it once, but I'll be damned if I namember how!!!

Oooh that worked! I followed the link some html is ok and copy and pasted the link info and updated

Oooh that worked! These are the instructions - my link text"
Yeah - like your first link. But when I clicked on your my link text, it just took me back to Goodreads :( No instructions!!

Yeah - like your first link. But when I clicked on your my link text, it just took me back to Goodreads :( No..." That's because every time I try to copy the instructions it puts itself in a link grrrr

I see these and know there are a ton on there I'll love. Heck, on this one, I read 23 of the first 30, and one of the 7 is a repeat. :) That's why I keep wanting to find a way to save them.

You will need to do this each time you close the GR page or your browser which can get annoying 😤
So I would just delete the App from your Table. It’s a very shite App anyway and I only use it on my phone cause the font is bigger in the App
