I have no clue about the snoopong either.
As for the Glendower part, I don't see the harm in Gansey speading the story. I guess it was the author's way to introduce as to Gansey's obsession with that part of history, which might be connected to the supernatural stuff that will potentially take place in the future.
Also at first I wasn't sure about the third person narration, but now that we see multiple perspectives this way I'm quite liking it. Do you agree?

I'm not sure is snooping but I think Gansey should be cautious with who he spreads the story to because I can for see him talking to the wrong person about it and it coming back to haunt him. I think maybe Adam should voice his concerns which could make Gansey more cautious about who he tells or at the very least will allow him to be more aware of his surroundings.
