That is a step forward,

Glad you've got an assistant and feel you've made great headway Alicia, and it's great she'll take you out and there is somewhere for mobility devices. I assume it's worse up there R, we might have a warm sun but the wind ranges from 'nice gentle breeze' to 'where is the winter coat' in a very short space of time.

You'll be so thrilled when it's all finished, tidied up, and the workmen gone - but it IS nice that they're paying attention to what the kitties need.
Hang in there - just a little bit longer.

I just volunteered to look after a fellow resident's cat for a week. We got every single piece of information I could think of - including Bella's vet - so I hope we won't need it. Bella investigated us carefully, so we won't seem too strange to her. Wish me luck.

Glad the 9 ducklings made it!

First day I've not had to put on a jumper down at the harbour. Still windy but it's a warmer wind. Sun has been shining all week although we've had the haar first thing most mornings. Lots of American tourists visiting, and a fair number of Germans today too. Practised my German a little although it's fair to say I'm very rusty!

Have had a rough week. Turns out McMini was being bullied. The school have been fabulous and I think we’ll have sorted it soon but the night before our birthdays I discovered he’d self-harmed. He’s OK and suitably embarrassed and not going to do it again but I’m making bloody sure he doesn’t by making a big fuss. Not an angry fuss, obvs but a we-are-going-to-give-you-the-mental-equipment-to-deal-with-this-next-time kind of fuss. I’ve set him up with a counselling session with an eye on learning some coping strategies to help him through if he feels so awful again.
He tells me that he doesn’t need it that much because he has me to talk to, which is completely lovely, but … yeh … it’s been a tough week. What with that and trying to get the eyebombing book in good enough shape to get a proof done. Which reminds me, I have to go sort that now so I can submit the final version tonight and order some. So exciting but also a bit scary.

That is a good point Alicia. So sorry MT, I completely forgot to reply to your post, so sorry Mc Mini's had such a rough time recently, hope you managed to sort out the draft.

We had a hot day today! Well we reached 22 degrees :)

Yes, the bird hide is good, and a nice group of people that are regulars there. Wow, that's impressive R!

Leaves me a couple of days of mad work, mad writing and a chance, at last, to sit quietly and contemplate just how fortunate I am to be living the wild little life I'm living right now.
Hope everyone is fine and dandy!

Nice to hear from you Stuart, hope you cope home alone!

Use it well - time disappears more quickly than liquor.

yes, long days!

Luckily the bird hide is in the least touristy spot, people walk past it to get to one of the cafes, but it's somewhere I only started going in recently.

That happened to me the other day, too! So irritating. Mwahahahrgh!

Sounds like a lovely day. Sympathies with all the checks and forms, I am rubbish at them. As for the wildlife ... I should imagine it was all lying about in hidden places panting and fanning itself with leaves. It was hot!

There was loads about looking at the local wildlife FB page, I just didn't go to the right place! Someone got some amazing pics of a kingfisher catching and eating a meal.

Good grief! He was lucky not to get arrested.

Maybe I should keep an the local newspaper!!

yes, we're getting the high temperatures here for once. Bit too high and would like some rain.
