I'm glad you've had good experiences of them :-)

sneaky things, appendices ;-)

A lovely friend brought me round a gorgeous Christmas cake with my latest book, in icing, on the top, tucked into an icing sleigh. She also brought a cake for my mother-in-law, that has a beautiful gold icing picture frame and a reindeer on top.
Right - getting on with a bit of reading today, a poodle around the internet and chilling!

Hope everything continues okay - that was a scare.

By now they could have finished the whole procedure!
Sounds like it should go okay, and I'm wondering at the long recovery time, but maybe that's just being careful.

A poodle? Have you got yourself a dog?

This week I will mostly be delivering assessments."
“The Moving Finger writes; and, having writ, Moves on: nor all thy Piety nor Wit. Shall lure it back to cancel half a Line, Nor all thy Tears wash out a Word of it.”

It's a bit cold and damp here, which isn't surprising. Mixed bag of classes today, so, fingers crossed for success!!

Have always loved this quotation.

so have I and I did feel it was appropriate in the circumstances :-)

Son still in but expected out today. Probably waiting for a ward round.

I had a lovely weekend away with my pals there but then I stayed up late last night and now I'm exhausted. I'll have to get an early night tonight, it's just so much easier to sit downstairs and watch TV than get ready for bed.
Glad your Jim is okay Kath.
Sorry your foot is giving you so much trouble Desley.
Is it Friday yet?

I better be careful i dont teach myself outa my job!

Last night I went to Waterstones in Swansea to hear Ben Aaranovitch talk about his books.
Interesting bloke, seems a nice man as well."
Love his Peter Grant books (& they're brilliantly narrated on Audible...) I recall he was responsible for the Daleks finally being able to go up stairs, in one of the awesomest Dr Who cliffhangers evs.

I better be careful i dont teach myself outa my job!"
At least you can spell programme right :-)

Ooh, sounds like you are going to have fun with him Lynne! Hope you get an early night Jud.

Or maybe it's just me!!!

I better be careful i dont teach myself outa my job!"
Now the rest know it's possible. That's encouraging.

Off to write for a bit. Then I'm knitting a sheep hat from wool from the farm behind our house. The excitement never wanes!

A sheep hat as in a hat for a sheep to wear or a hat that looks like a sheep or a sheep wool hat?
Weather here is vile today, I'm so glad I'm not running this afternoon.
Hope your grandson recovers quickly, Lynne. Poor wee tyke (and his mum!)

Yes. I was once asked by one of the cubs why there were always carrots - even if you have only eaten cheese pie.

It's a hat made out of the farm's own sheep wool, and it's got a pattern of sheep on it. So two of those things! It's for people, though, not for the sheep. I knit them and Lucy at the farm sells them. I don't pay for the wool, of course, and I exchange the hats for home-made sausages. No tax! ;)

I agree with Alicia Patti, it is encouraging. Hope you enjoy your day off Lynne, do hope your daughter doesn’t get it. Sounds a good deal to me Kath!

That 'poor pig' has been feasting on windfall apples for a month or two - including two trugs-full from my garden. He's had a good life! Him Next Door has an apple tree which sheds all over my veg patch. I collect up the good ones to use but the duffers go in a trug to the farm.

Makes for a tasty tea though.

I had to google this, from Cambridge Dictionary!
poodle around (sth)
informal — phrasal verb with poodle
to spend time doing things without any particular purpose or plan:
We spent the day poodling around town.

We spent most of our time setting up the harder levels for the exercises she has me doing, so I know where to progress; I'll do most of it at my own slow pace. Most of all, I needed her to check form - no point in doing them wrong.
Then into the warm pool to stretch and do toe lifts (need the water to help), and nice shower in the sit-down stall, and nap.
And it's raining in California! Lightly, but rain is rain and much appreciated after the disastrous fires.
Apt. fixup continues. We're getting a few things done a week. They estimate a month - after all the choices are made, so much more likely to be two or three, so we'll still be in a small 1-BR for Christmas, I'm pretty sure.
Did I mention rain? Never knew I'd feel this way about it: bring it on.

Anyway I’m fine touch wood and it’s daughters day off so we’ve sorted out for tomorrow that I’ll go and stay with the boy at their house then my OH will be safe. He can’t go back to school until 48 hours since the last episode.
Weather here is atrocious again. OH had to go to Cardiff in my little car, his Jeep is off the road until the DVLA registers it. He wasn’t looking forward to the drive in the wind and flood water. He said the water was up to the sills in a few places and a Discovery in front of him aquaplaned straight off the road into the ditch. Be glad when he gets his car sorted. It’s all MOT ‘d, lights changed and insured but need GB number plates and tax, that’s all.

Wind howling round the house and rain hammering ayt the windows. Again.

I’ve never heard of that term either GL! Glad that you have had a nice PT person Alicia, and she has shown you things to do by yourself. Glad you have rain, hope it helps with the awful fires you’ve had. Pleased the new apartment is coming along, it might be a good thing you won’t be in before Christmas. Hope OH gets back safe Lynne, sounds scary driving conditions. Thanks for that info Patti!

Which reminds me. I better turn the ac on in the bedroom or itll be too hot when i go in.
Still havent sorted out if we'll get internet ay home after Christmas. Hope we van. Ive very little time at work to be in the group and trying tp type on my phone is not the best to say the least.
At least i can catch up with reading whats going on.
