Welcome to the group! Rachel will be answering questions on Monday, June 29th in this thread only. In the meantime if you have a question for the author or just want to introduce yourself feel free to do so in this thread.

karlipagemaster (kwpagemaster) Rachel Vincent is one of my favorite authors! I can't wait!

Tell us about the gorgeous cover!

karlipagemaster (kwpagemaster) how exciting was it for you to finally have one of your books out in hardcover?

karlipagemaster (kwpagemaster) would you ever consider writing a short story or novella from Marc's point of view from your Shifters series? I would love a peek inside his head :-)

karlipagemaster (kwpagemaster) SPOILER for anyone who hasn't read Lion's Share!!!

when writing your Shifters series did you know that you wanted to put Jace and Abby together in the future, out did that idea come to you later?

karlipagemaster (kwpagemaster) between all of your main female characters from your books, which one would you say you are most like?

If you were asked to be on Dancing With the Stars would you say yes? If so, who would you want to partner with?

karlipagemaster (kwpagemaster) if you could co write a novel with another ya author, who would it be and why?

Krysta (krystafig) Do you enjoy writing adult or young adult more?

Brandi (shutterbug8489) | 4 comments What was your favorite part to write in the Shifters series?

Favorite place to read?

Kat (sassycatsbooksreview) | 6 comments I love Rachel Vincent books! I'm not sure what questions to ask except maybe ask whos POV is it going to be in Lion's Den?

Would you write an update of the Soul Screamers gang? Like is Nash and Sabine now engaged? What about Emma? Harmony and Brendon new girl? Sophie? you get the gish of it, what are Kaylee and Tod doing in their afterlife?

Can you tell us a little about your next YA project?

karlipagemaster (kwpagemaster) did you know from the start that you were gonna put Kaylee with Tod? Or did that idea gradually come to you as you wrote the Soul Screamers series?

karlipagemaster (kwpagemaster) just curious. How did you come up with Faythe's name and the unusual spelling of it for the Shifters series? speaking of names it was so exciting to see my name spelled correctly that series! That never happens to me :-) so thanks for that!

message 18: by Ashley (new)

Ashley (ashleyisenberg) | 1 comments What is your biggest piece of advice for new writers? I am almost finished writing a novel and would love to see it published. I don't even know where to begin! Your writing is absolutely inspiring. Not many authors can make you laugh, cry, and want to throw the book across the room all in the same chapter.

Krysta (krystafig) When you have multiple ideas for different, new books, how do you sort them out and focus on writing them all?

message 20: by William L. (new) - added it

William L. I'm so glad that I can ask you a few questions, Rachel!
Right now I'm just going to ask the "general" ones.

What are you currently working on?

As for your Shifters series, do you know if it will be reprinted since brand-new copies of the various installment in the series aren't available anymore?

Do you have any YA/Adult contracted project you can't talk about yet?

If you could work on a new "bookish" project with a fellow author, who would you choose and why?

karlipagemaster (kwpagemaster) If you could couple up two of your characters from two different series, which characters would you choose? I think I would choose Marc and Sabine.

karlipagemaster (kwpagemaster) what was your weirdest and your greatest experience with a fan?

karlipagemaster (kwpagemaster) was there a certain moment or event in your life that triggered the idea for The Stars Never Rise?

karlipagemaster (kwpagemaster) I just started The Stars Never Rise, and I was wondering, what inspired you to have a corrupt church as the antagonist? Also, I've never read a book involving exorcism. What type of research did you do on the subject?

I'm READING IT TOO!!! OMG that's such a great question.

karlipagemaster (kwpagemaster) just finished The Stars Never Rise! I was so impressed with it. Another awesome book by Rachel Vincent! Anyway, I was in love with the concept behind Finn's character. How did that idea come to you? Will his 'condition' be further explained in the sequel?

karlipagemaster (kwpagemaster) I noticed here on goodreads that this series doesn't have an official title. Will there be one soon?

message 29: by Kat (new) - rated it 4 stars

Kat (sassycatsbooksreview) | 6 comments Now that I've read The Star Never Rise, I LOVE FINN :-) But did he ever have a body? Does he have a perception of what he should look like beside the green eyes.

So how many books are you planning on for this series?

karlipagemaster (kwpagemaster) I know that you did self publishing for Lion's Share. Now that you've experienced that process, what are your thoughts on it?

I'm curious about your self-pubbing experience too. I didn't know you did. Would you ever do it again?

If you could see one of your books on stage, which one would it be?

karlipagemaster (kwpagemaster) I'm currently reading Oath Bound, and I was wondering if it was difficult for you to write a series where the chapters switch character perspectives. Did you feel more pressure to differentiate the characters personalities, so readers could easily know which characters head they were in? (p.s. after I've finished this book, I'll have read all of your books that you have out! Yay for me!)

I love this idea for a story, how did the idea come to you? Where do you usually find your inspiration?

I love your book title. Did you get to choose it or did you have to agree on one with your publisher?

Also, how did you get into writing? Was the process challenging and if so, what advice would you give an aspiring author?

Brandi (shutterbug8489) | 4 comments I absolutely loved reading The Stars Never Rise and I'm very excited to find out what happens next. Do you know when the next book will be released yet?

Veray | 7 comments Hi, I'm just getting started on The Stars Never Rise. I think it is rather unique that the bad guys are the leaders of the church. How controlling they are and how they have taken over the government. I'm not too far in so it will be interesting to see where this goes. Thanks for sharing your talent with us.

message 46: by William L. (new) - added it

William L. I had totally forgot about this! So let me throw a few questions here and there.

Have you ever thought about writing a Middle Grade fantasy novel/series or a New Adult contemporary novel/series?

How do you deal with being both a wife and a mother and having deadlines?

Since you have kids, which one is your favourite recipe to cook for your family during holidays or any other special "events"?

Are you content with what you've accomplished so far as a mother, writer, wife etc.? Do you regret any choices you've made throughout the years?

Who are your most influential authors and why?

Who are your most influential celebrities (either actors, singers, comedians etc.)and why?

message 47: by Kat (new) - rated it 4 stars

Kat (sassycatsbooksreview) | 6 comments I feel like I know your books so well because I love them! I guess I would have to asked since no one really brought it up about your unbound trilogy. Where are everyone now? Do Cam & Olivia finally get married? And I really really think that you should do a novella on Noelle because she play such an important role to how everyone got to where they were in the book and how did she end up having a relationship with Cavazos.

Carly (ac_valentine) Now that you have published so many books, when you come up with a new idea for a novel, do you still wait until the manuscript is finished before approaching your agent/editor or do you just pitch the idea?

message 50: by Rachel (new)

Rachel (rachelvincent) | 51 comments Colleen wrote: "Tell us about the gorgeous cover!"

The butterfly cover is actually the 2nd version for this book. I'm not sure it's plot-relevant, strictly speaking, but as we all know, the job of a cover is to interest people enough to get them to pick up the book, and I think this gorgeous image does that! And the flames ARE relevant, so... ;)
