Abby Wheeler | 3 comments Maybe It's Magic: A Stand-Alone Friends-To-Lovers Romance

Do you like romantic comedies? Specifically, do you like romantic comedies about that moment when two best friends become something more and where there also might be a light paranormal aspect and a few twists along the way? Do you like ones you can read in roughly 2.5 hours?

If you were nodding along with all or most of that, then you just might like my novella, Maybe It's Magic.

The humor is high, the angst is low-to-mild. Why, all 3 of my reviewers on Amazon seem to agree it's funny and sweet. They've failed to mention that it's smutty, so I'll just make sure you know that here: It's smutty. Don't get me wrong, it's not erotica-level smutty, but there are scenes where people gleefully do things to each others' naughty bits.

Jake: college junior; linebacker; desperately likes to think he's an alpha, but is actually a big softie; just a hot, lovable goofball who, up till now, has resisted realizing his BFF is female. Well, not that he hasn't noticed, but he respectfully tries not to; would do anything for Molly.

Molly: college junior; communications major; the brains of the operation; destined to be his bestie from the womb; so mutually codependent that they go to college together; might have well-hidden feelings for our hero; enjoys bossing our hero around (which he thinks he's a damned saint for putting up with); would do anything for Jake, even "help" him in his efforts toward other women.

Juliet: The other woman; over-achiever; spoiled, but sweet; knows she's beautiful and tolerates the consequences/reaps the rewards; not a bitch, though, I swear. You'll see.

Patience: An old hippie who sells supposedly magic crystals; she's pretty grounded, even with her chosen area of expertise; gives our hero the macguffin that starts off the whole ball of wax.

The Plot in a nutshell: A crystal that may or may not possess magic properties is supposed to help our hero get the girl of his dreams, but has the unfortunate side-effect of attracting him to his best friend.

So there it is. If you think that sounds like a fun romp, then feel free to message me for a free copy. As of now, I have an epub, but I can (in theory) convert to another format. It's also free on Kindle Unlimited if you're able to read there.

I'm happy with it, but I'd love more reads and reviews. :)
