☕ Lachgas ♿ (lachgas) | 9386 comments cam across https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/2... and corrected the author by moving the chinese out to an extra author field - but is that part in the brackets really part of the name? (because wondering there are no other books under that profile)

that was the initial author profile https://www.goodreads.com/author/show...
(and should the profile merge go to GR author english Dan Brown or the chinese version then?

Why this russian book is there? I don't know? cover on amazon looks russian but as I'm not sure how his russian author name should be (amazon list two transcripted versions) I'll better stay off there

Emy (emypt) | 5037 comments Re the Chinese:
That seems to translate as "nice", which does seem odd. Perhaps someone with better skills at that than I can comment!
EDIT: Merged to 丹·布朗 as that is also the form that appears on the covers.

In this case I'd merge to the Chinese profile as that is the unique one to those editions. The only follower appears to be a Chinese reader. DONE

I've noticed that if you use the Combine function from 丹·布朗 it indicates that a number of works still have 丹·布朗 as primary author. They'll need Dan Brown as primary and 丹·布朗 as secondary... I'll leave that to you :P

Re Russian / Cyrillic:
Cyrillic transcriptions should be as per cover, which may well vary - for example Bulgarian, Russian, and Ukrainian may transcribe a name differently to indicate their own phonology, in the same way as a French or English transcription may also vary. In all cases, it should be:
1. Dan Brown (or other established English version)
2. Name-as-per-cover
3. Translator (usually in their native alphabet only unless they also have an established English variant of their name).

☕ Lachgas ♿ (lachgas) | 9386 comments I uploaded the cover now (was hanging in some quote combining) and it's just cyrillic I think - which is not listed on the amazon page so I can't enter it :/

☕ Lachgas ♿ (lachgas) | 9386 comments Thanks Emy!
I really do struggle with these asian and cyrillic signs not only because I just can't speak or read it but I can bareley see the differences in signs (especially with thin lines) just physically - and knowing that seeing less than 50% may cause some trouble with these unknown details it's better to just not mess up further because I think a sign is the same :)

Ayshe | 3084 comments Is this book: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/1... the Russian one?

I added author names.

I think the ASIN has to be removed as the amazon listing is for hardcover? And the cover is watermarked with "ruskniga.com".

Ayshe | 3084 comments Maybe we can use this listing's cover and ISBNs: https://www.amazon.com/Utrachennyy-si...

Emy (emypt) | 5037 comments Looks like the same edition to me but I think the Amazon cover is equally the same cover, just with the bottom chunked off to avoid the watermark. I'll see if I can poke anything out of AST, assuming 978-9851677654 is the correct ISBN13.

EDIT: Bingo!
http://ast.ru/catalog/23130/923227.ph... (ISBN13: 9785271278921) gives http://cdn.eksmo.ru/v2/AST00000000004...

Added the description from AST but not modified anything else yet. I agree though that it looks like a second-hand sale ASIN, which would therefore need to be removed (with a change note of course!).
