Hi folks...right... it's 'lil ol' me in the saddle, Nick has asked me to take the reins & I've accepted, since Nick has gone & got himself busy with life....and I'm not! I would like to express my thanks and gratitude to Nick for running this thread for what seems like nearly forever, a sterling job he has done too! And I shall endeavour to maintain this thread, in the manner to which we all have come accustomed to! :-)

So...taking the gold home with him for this week, with his nomination '5 Minutes by The Stranglers', the winner is...... the moderator himself..Gordon! Well done & a nice choice sir! :)

I remember buying the Stranglers single on release. For long forgotten reasons the picture sleeve hadn't been delivered; an ad in the music press gave an address to write to for fans to obtain the cover! :-)

The song itself isn't one of my fave Stranglers tunes though, which is why it fell just outside my top six here.

must've seen the stranglers 6 or 7 times in their golden period, great brutal show - the rot set in well before 'gordon brown' tho', and i wouldn't go out the back door to see them now.
