Calyssa and Edie's Dorm

Calyssa and Edie's dorm in Niji House. None may enter without their permission.

The room is the size of two bedrooms conjoined and has two sides. Each side has a bed, a desk with a chair, a closet and dresser, and a bedside table. There is a bathroom off to the side.

Edie opened the door after finding the room with her name. "It's.... so open."
She would definitely have to do something about that. It made her fell vulnerable to be in such an open space.

"Yeah, you get to decorate it however you want. Isn't that cool? Mine is all hot pink and striped," Coral bragged. "You can't have pets though, which is stupid. I don't know who came up with that rule, but it's stupid,"

((Since when is that a rule?))

"I don't need a pet," Edie said with a shrug.

((I thought they couldn't have pets in their dorms))

"You're free to play with mine. She's a very fluffy dog but she bites people she doesn't like," Coral looked around the room a bit. "Looks like you got a roommate too,"

((That's never been a rule. I looked every where in rules and things. It doesn't say it anywhere.))

Edie looked at the other half of the room. There were small signs of another person being there but it was just as bare as her side.
"I guess they haven't been here very much either," she said.

"Lucky you. My roommate spends a lot of time in our dorm just to annoy me. She once offered me a soda that sprayed everywhere and made me sticky!" Coral whined. "I bet she did it on purpose too,"

"You mean she lives there to annoy you?!" Edie asked. It was a curious, not to mention amusing, thought.

"Wouldn't surprise me if she did," She rolled her eyes. "So you're going to decorate your dorm, right? I could, like, totally help you with that! I'm a great interior designer!"

Edie nodded. "I need something to make it less *white* and I want my half closed off from that side," she said firmly. "You can make it pretty with me."

"You should try hot pink! It's the best color!" She suggested eagerly.

"Hot pink..." Edie said thinking. "We'll see."

"And maybe some gold or silver. Mom says a splash of sparkly gold can go a long way!" She continued.

"Gold and Silver are nice," Edie said smiling. "I like sparkly."

"Perfect! Then that's what we'll get," Coral grinned. "Maybe we really good be good friends,"

"I'd like to think so," Edie said. "I haven't met anyone like you before. It's refreshing."

"I haven't met a lot of people at this school either. Most just annoy me. But I like you. Kinda," She said.

Edie tilted her head. "Same. But I'm sure that will change once we get to know each other more."

Coral simply shrugged. "So are you going to sleep or what?"

"No," Edie said simply. "It's too early for that. I might look around."

"Around the school or town? 'Cuz because the school is kinda boring," She stated.

"Boring or not, I live here now," Edie said with a shrug. "I've been around town already.

"We could meet my mom," Coral suggested eagerly. "I'm sure she'd love to meet you!"

"You really think so?" Edie asked. "Parents aren't my favorite subject."

"My mom loves a lot of people!" Coral bragged. "She had so many friends when she was my age,"

"I haven't had experience with parents before. Mine included," Edie said.

"You never knew your own parents? That sucks," She huffed. "But at least you didn't have to deal with annoying rules,"

Edie shook her head. "Mum died and Dad's never been around. And my only rules were for survival. I didn't know I could do this-" she said, gesturing to her body and changing her face to her octopus face and back. "At least until I was 3 lives old."

"Hmph," She said simply, looking around some more. "We could go to the club instead! As long as that rude vampire isn't there, it'll be a lot of fun!~"

She changed her face back. "I'm really tired, actually," she told Coral. "But we can see your mom and go clubbing tomorrow."

"Oh, okay." She shrugged. "Tomorrow it is then. And it'll just be you and me, I won't invite Stella or her annoying boyfriend,"

Edie smiled slightly. "That sounds just fine to me."

"Perfect! Then it's settled. Make sure you dress in neon! It'll be like, so much fun for real!" She grinned.

Edie nodded. "Neon.... I'll see what I can do."

"Great! I'll meet you here at eight PM, 'kay?" She started to leave the room.

"To meet your mom?" Edie asked, thinking it was a little late.

"No, to go to the club, silly! We're meeting my mom during lunch," She laughed.

"Oh! That makes more sense. Then I'll see you at lunch time," Edie said.

"See ya!" Coral waved boredly and left Edie's room.

Edie smiled and went over to close her door. Maybe this place wouldn't be so bad after all. She leaned against the cool wood of the door for a moment before looking around and feeling like she was completely out in the open.
She began opening doors, first finding the bathroom. She considered closing herself in and sleeping in the bathtub but she'd done that before and woke up to someone yelling at her to leave.
Continuing her search she opened the closet that had sheets inside. She was going to close the door when she got an idea. Taking armfuls of different colored sheets over to her bed, she tied them up and around the bed. When she was done, she had created a blanket like fortress.
"This will work for tonight."
She undressed completely and crawled into her fort to rest. She was exhausted from rebuilding her body. Sleep was almost immediate.

The next morning. Edie emerged from her bed and stretched out her limbs. She was feeling a bit tense and decided she'd go down to the beach for a swim before she got ready for lunch with her new friend.
She put on her own dress, now that it was dry, with her swimsuit underneath. Then she grabbed her bag and headed to the door. She only stopped to pick up an envelope with her name on it. Inside was a small pack of credits. With a smile, she put them in her bag and headed to town.

Edie opened the door. "Sorry. I'm not always so spacey. I just don't get out with other people very often," She told Regina.

"Don't worry about it," Regina said passively. She could just as easily be the same way because she didn't get out much. Not much socializing when you were the only young sea witch around.

"That side is my new roommate's side. And that is my side," She said, pointing toward the red box that encompassed her side.

"What's with the box?" Regina asked, looking at it oddly.

"I didn't like how open the room was. So the divider makes me feel more protected. Like my own little hole in the rocks," Edie explained, doing a little wiggle as she put her hands out.

"I like the snug fit anyway. And the wall inside is perfect for storing my treasures."

"That makes sense," Regina said. She couldn't share in the sentiment because she was loving the space. Seeing her roommate however was unsavory. A divider wouldn't be a bad idea.

"I chose the red one because it was the only one that covered all they way around," Edie told her.
She patted the side and the sound was fairly muffled.

Regina nodded, since she could see how that might be desirable, but still not for her. "So...we're going to look at your collection?" she prompted.

"Oh yeah," she said slowly, her voice lilting as she walked over to the doorway. The door slip open and she ducked inside.

"It's still bigger in here than you'd think."
