SOLVED. Young Adult - Main character is named Rachel; takes place during frontier times possibly in the midwest. [s]

Hi. I'm looking for a young adult book that I read in middle school sometime in the early- to mid-90s. I believe it was recently published then and I bought it at a book fair. The main character's name is Rachel and it takes place during the late 1800s, I believe. Rachel moves (maybe for marriage??) to a frontier-type area and I think she becomes some kind of nurse/renders first aid to those who need it. I remember her riding a horse and going off into the wilderness for some reason. I'm fairly certain that she falls in love with the main male character in the book whom she disliked at the beginning.

That's about all that I can remember. Any help is appreciated!
