message 57: by Erika (new)

Erika | 22 comments oh my gosh i actually had such trepidations about this category because i flashbacked to a couple of years ago when the category was "an author with the same initials as you" and that's what my brain thought this was. I had such a hard time with that category that i was freaking out until i read the challenge again and actually realized what it said.

i actually had a bunch of options just based on books i've already read this year but i settled on using La Belle Sauvage by philip pullman because i love the entire series and really enjoyed this addition to it

message 69: by Tracy (new)

Tracy (tracyisreading) | 2573 comments My initial pick was The Bird Eater by Ania Ahlborn, however at the beginning of the challenge I was working my way through the Miss Peregrine's Trilogy, so this was one of my first completed categories and I used Library of Souls by Ransom Riggs, I enjoyed the series a lot, especially the addition of the quirky photos , and I was excited to hear that there is a 4th book coming out in the series.

Since I had already been working my way through these he was not a new author to me.

For our picture book challenge we completed Swimmy by Leo Lionni. we all loved the beautiful art work in this story. I don't think we have ever read this author before.

On What Grounds

Who is the author?
Cleo Coyle

Is he/she a new author for you?
Yes. This was a cozy murder mystery in a New York City coffee sop. Considering I have a map with my favorite coffee shops in basically all NYC neighborhoods, this was almost the perfect book for me. I identified with her when she waxed poetically about the need to not force an espresso shot. Swoon.

Erika wickwire I was panicking when I saw this prompt and quickly started rummaging through my books at home. Then a miracle, I found my favorite book and realized it fit perfectly.
