Susie I had run out of Audible credits and was looking for an audiobook from the library. This came up and I enjoyed The Dinner so I thought I would give it a go, and found it to be an enjoyable listen. The narrator did a great job.

Dear Mr. M is a thriller that tells the story of a once celebrated writer, M, who made fame by writing a fictionalised account of the real life disappearance of a history teacher who had been having an affair with one of his female students. Years later when his fame is fading, M has a neighbour who keeps watch over M for an unknown reason. The novel is told from various perspectives and as the plot unravels Koch again reveals a series of characters with little to no redeeming features, seeemingly a skill of his!

I found the novel quite suspenseful and enjoyed the character study of human failings. I would have given it a four had it not been for the end of the book which I felt let the rest of the story down somewhat. Still, I am glad to have listened to it and would recommend it to those who enjoy thrillers, enjoy Koch's writing, and don't mind that none of the characters are likeable!
