I haven't read any Myron Bolitar books in several years -- thanks for the reminder that there are still several of these I have yet to read!

Dale Harcombe | 1937 comments Little Secrets by Anna Snoekstra. I'm not recommending this one yet I suspect some other people will like it. One that people will need to make up their own minds about depending on your taste.

Ah ha! You're most welcome. I just breezed through 3 in a month or two. Being greedy, I must slow down!

Paul (paa00a) | 202 comments Finally finished a couple of books that took a while to get through for different reasons:

Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (Harry Potter, #4) by J.K. Rowling Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire was a catch-as-catch-can readaloud to my two oldest daughters for the last couple of months. My third time to read it, and it's of course awesome.

Review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...

It by Stephen King It was, well, 1,400 pages in paperback – so long I had to return it back to the library (nonrenewable because there was a line) and wait a couple more months before it got back around to me. My second time to read this one – first time in 20 years or so – and it's still really good and really terrifying, but it also has its flaws that need to be discussed.

Nichole | 554 comments I had to rewrite my review for An Unkindness of Ghosts by Rivers Solomon. I accidentally deleted my previous review when I was deleting a goodreads list.

PattyMacDotComma A tiny farting angel in an English school- what's not to love? Very cute, irreverent 'chapter' book for young readers. The Tale of Angelino Brown by David Almond and artist Alex T Smith.

(I included a couple of the wonderful illustrations, too.)

message 931: by Petra (new)

Petra | 3324 comments I finished listening to the audio of The Alphabet House yesterday.
I liked the story and the psychological aspect of it. However, I wasn't drawn into the emotional side of what was happening to James and Bryan. The writing kept me at arm's length.

message 946: by Kathleen (new)

Kathleen | 401 comments I've really enjoyed my reading lately, but in particular want to recommend two:

The Women of Brewster Place was a big surprise for me. I didn't realize it was such a heavy story (stories), and so beautifully written. Review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...

and also Dancing at the Edge of the World: Thoughts on Words, Women, Places. Ursula K. Le Guin is on people's minds since her recent death, and although her novels were highly recommended to me, I somehow never got around to them until reading one lesser-known story last year. This book is non-fiction, and just fabulous.

Chrissie I have completed Where the Rivers Flow North.

My review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...

I was expecting more. The author has received so many awards. Did I miss something? Or is it simply that short stories / novellas are not my preference?!
