Kim (portionsforfoxes) | 1 comments Hello! I'm new in this group. My name is Kim and I live in Rotterdam, the second biggest city of The Netherlands. I joined this group, simply because I'm a queerreader and I would love to meet other queer bookworms from around the world to share books and other thoughts with.

In my daily life I work as an interaction designer at a digital agency and I spend time with family, friends and my girlfriend. I mostly read non-fiction books. History, politics, crime and cultural diversity are my favorite subjects. But sometimes I like to pick up fiction as well, mostly thrillers, fantasy or science fiction novels.

So if you have any questions, you're welcome to ask! (Sorry for my English. It's not that great).

Welcome Kim! What is an 'interaction designer'?

Sarah Kay | 26 comments Hi Kim, welcome! I've been trying to branch out and read more nonfiction. Are there any good non-fiction crime novels you would recommend?

Not really about crime but about public health medical mysteries, Eleven Blue Men is a superbly written and fascinating series of essays about strange medical situations. The main problem is finding an affordable copy of the book.

The first story with the same name as the book can be downloaded here (a PDF): http://pesticide-education.phs.ucdavi...

That's a fascinating premise! I'll definitely have to look for it.

Greg Welcome Kim! I'll admit I'm not much of a non-fiction reader. What are some of your favorites?

Zefi | 7 comments Hey! I moved to Amsterdam recently, although I am from Greece originally, so we are kinda close :)
I am also curious as to what your job is, it sounds exciting!
As for books, even though I used to read tons of fiction, grad school has really affected my reading habits to the point where I have to consciously make time to read something other than non-fiction! I am quite a lot into pop science, philosophy and critical theory ^^ These days I am reading the anthology "Research in the Archival Multiverse"!
