I believe the book starts with a girl watching the news saying they found another girls body. 1 of the girls was the daughter of the woman who worked in the other girls family home so the girls grew up together as best friends and went to college together. 1 girl becomes the target of the rapist/murderer but by the end of the book, he gets the other girl but she's still alive.
